Good morning Connie and All. I have exciting to report. I haven't been here for a while but have popped in a few times but my computer time is mostly at night.
As you know I had my surgery May 4, I've lost a total of 34 pounds since the beginning, and two sizes since surgery. I am losing at the rate of about 4 oz. every 3 days or so. I have my 6 week post-op appt. and first fill next week. Here's the exciting part; I cannot believe the energy I have. I have gone from barely moving to working like a fiend! Further more my back that was so bad I couldn't walk more than 10 min. and sometimes not even make it to the corner, well Sunday the dog and I walked an entire hour. Of course both of our tails were dragging when we got back, lol! Even 3 weeks after surgery I could mow the lawn (push mower) in 10-15 min. segments (and that was amazing, for me) now I can go about 45 min. and still have energy to do garden and housework too. I count mowing as exercise for the day. Last year I could barely plant all my flowers since bending or kneeling were very painful and could put me down for the day. This year I've dug all my own holes, and planted bending over, something I haven't done for years!

I've been slower the past two days, (but still mowed most of the lawn yesterday and will finish today) because my back has been out of whack, but went to the chiropractor last evening, so should be ready to go by the time my breakfast is done and I'm dressed.

I'm even thinking of going back to work as a paramedic part time! I had totally given up on the idea, which broke my heart, but feel that I could handle a couple of twelve hour shifts a week, now. I don't know if any place will have me since I've been away two years, but one place I worked for casual part time for years, might. I'm going to check.

I'm sorry this has been so long but I wanted to share with you what I've been up to.

Have a great day, friends. Sue

Way to go on your weight loss and energy progress!!!  I'm so thrilled with the energy and good health that's been coming back to me since I had my surgery last year.  I can do so many things now that I thought were totally lost to me.  It's awesome what even a 30 lb loss can do for us!!!

Sue,

Sounds like you are doing quite well and losing weight has so many advantages for many of us, I, like you, have what seems like endless energy, where in the past, I was mostly a couch potato, now I am constantly doing something and I really identified with your planting, mine consisted of painful moments and the last spring before my surgery, pointing and directing where I wanted things placed because I could not do the work, well this year, as has been documented on here, I got more than my share with gardening (posion ivy (lol), though I was not laughing for the month of April) and then clearing a swath of land in my yard so I could plant a vegetable garden. . .  my life is full of joyful living and I am sure you will further enjoy the rewards of you surgery. . .

Congrats and keep up the great work.

Laureen

Good morning Connie and those to follow,

Guess we're together with the "not much going on" club. Just working, working, working. Not that that's a bad thing, it's great after so many months of slow times. I just have to ramp up and get back into the groove of rushing around. It's all good!

Yesterday I went to see a local plastic surgeon about my body work. He's a great guy, I really, really liked he and his staff. He's very down to earth and easy to talk to and reassuring. I plan on doing a tummy tuck with muscle tightening, breast lift and augmentation. He uses adjustable implants with ports in them similar to a lap band. After a couple of weeks from surgery, he starts to add the saline until you like the size. Great idea, since I'm scared to death about what size to get. I sure don't want to look like Watermelon Rose!

Bottom line:  all of this is going to cost over $14,000. Gulp!  I'm still going to go to more consultations to make sure he's the guy, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it.

Okay, that's it for me. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Susan

Best wishes to you, Susan!  What keeps me from plastics is the price tag.  Medicare doesn't cover the cost at all and we sure can't afford it on our own.

Susan,

When I hit lotto, I am going to have Dr. Hurwitz do my plastics. . .  the full body lift. . .lol, I gotta dream, because plastics will probably only ever happen for me when that dream comes true. . .

Good luck and the price he gave is not bad for what you are talking about having done. . .

Hugs, L
