Good Tuesday Morning Folks!
Well the President of the United States was here for Kalamazoo Centrals High School Graduation.
The valedictorian Cindy Lee is one of my volunteers. She did a marvy job I thought. When she came here to volunteer as a 14 year old she could hardly speak English and was so shy. This young lady is going places. Her mom is in Korea and wasn't able to attend, I felt bad for her mom, she is a lovely mom too! I'm not an Obama fan, but was excited for the kids to shake hands with the President.
I was talking to my girlfriend who works downtown and she had to evacuate the building because Marine One Helicopter was landing across the street, some guy with a bull horn interrupted our converstation...LOL...now things are settling down in Kalamazoo!!
Haven't posted much here lately, but wanted to drop by and say hello. Working, then treadmill, then practicing piano lesson, then off to piano lesson. Busy day ahead....this will be my second lesson with my new piano teacher, so I'm really looking forward to it.

I really don't have much to add today. Just the usual concerns with my daughter Jamie, and grands Nic and Grace driving to Memphis...I always worry when they travel. And then of course all the testing with Nic and what the out come will be???
It is raining and cool here today...days like this I am glad I can't get out. My surgeon said I will be able to drive on the 14th...I can't wait!!

Good Morning Laureen and Friends,
Busy day here today. Actually, the whole week will be busy as I am playing catchup from being away from home at daughter's last week. I'll head back over on Sunday and stay until about July 9th. Then they will be on their own for a few weeks. Erin went to the doctor yesterday. Baby Briley is right at 7 lbs and head size is "full term". We tend to have large heads. (big brains need room I say!) And. . . doctor actually says she's about a week ahead of what they thought. However, no mention of moving up the June 28 c-section date. Erin was hoping! As the doctor says, "You are full of baby aren't you?" Not telling her anything she doesn't already know!
Today I go to my homeowner's board meeting. Guess the neighbor and I did such a good job of "input" to the association that we got elected to serve on the board. It's a 2 yr term and meets quarterly. I can do that.
Then a haircut and color finally! Have had to cancel it twice for other commitments. Pick up a window screen that was bent when installed. . . and finally be back home for an appt to have side of our deck measured for an outside solar screen to block the summer sun but also allow some view. The side of our deck gets the full force of the hot summer sun in the late afternoons preventing us from enjoying the deck. I know a good one will be expensive but I love sitting on the deck and having dinner out there.
It is finally getting nice. Seventy at 7am so it looks like the makings of a nice warm day. it's about time!

morning laureen and OFF
picked up my new script last night when i got out of work. its TOPAMAX 25MG and i take 1-2 tablets before bedtime. supposed to take full effect in about a week. i sure hope so!!! didn't feel or see anything different so far from last nights dosage. sighs. have to drink lots of water so i don't get kidney stones while on this medication also.
was asked to work 4 hours extra last night and i said NO!! got a look of disgust and rolled eyes as she said well i just thought i would ask!!! well its not HER hip that is hurting!!!!!!! i know i need the extra money but damit i HURT!!!! and if she needs help in another area then why didn't she schedule more cashiers than she did???? not my fault!!!
weather here is cool again today but sun is out so that is good. just praying that if it has to rain to get it over and done with before sunday or wait til after the race is over with and we are back home safe!!!!!!! this will be my first NASCAR race ever and i want it to be nice!!! PLEASE!!!????
my brothers dr visit to 3rd dr about his knees is he isn't ready yet for knee replacement. so this dr gave him some injections in his knees and sent him home. still waiting to hear about my cousin aka my dad on his open heart surgery this morning. praying hard he is going to be ok!!!

I am in North Carolina at my friends house. Il leave here on Thursday to drive back to Florida and go home. I may have to work on Friday.
My daughters engagement party was a lot of fun and a lot of food!!!!!
It was my neices 37th birthday so we took her out to dinner and had a little party at Smoques in Chicago. That restaurant was featured on Diners DriveIns and Dives by Guy Frieri from the fodd Channel. It was busy in there!!!!!
Today I am just going to pal around with my friend and rest.

So nice of you to chime in here and I have a bunch of little names for my dear Roxie. . . there is Foxie Roxie, Miss Wiggle Butt and the newest one is Spoiled Rotten Princess. . . lol, how quickly she stole my heart and what a darling she is. . . my brother has a mini daschund, named Lola. . . she is a delightful little thing, I just perfer my dogs to be horse sized (lol). . .

I've been busy this morning ... had my last appointment with my shrink, then I went to the AT&T store and got wireless service and a new cell phone. I was tempted to get a $99 iPhone but didn't want to spring for the $59.99 a month service. Maybe in two years.
The main thing I wanted the cell phone for was to keep my current phone number. I may end up just using this as my only number, but then again I may get a Louisiana number. But I wanted the phone for the road. I have a TracFone, but I wanted something ready when I got down to Monroe.
My big news from yesterday was I passed my drug test, so I'm all set to start my new job. A little worried about that drug test, since I do take vicodin, but obviously that didn't bother them too much.
I have lots of packing and pitching to do today. First, I have to eat lunch. Starving! Have a good day.
Just to warn you you wil not like the AT and T wireless for your computer. We have it on our other notebook and the service is a bit to be desired. It is slow and you wont get service in a lot of places. Carl is having a hard time with it in Chicago. He had to go to At and t several times to have them reset the card. I just got a verizon one and it is much better.
Glad everthing went well with the drug test. Now you are on your way!!!!!
