Good morning OFF
Good weekend for me.   I got up north where I used to take mom.   What happy memories I shared with my best friend!    Enjoyed time with her also and then joined our hubby's for the movie Robin Hood.  BF hubby is having rny surgery to marrow and we have been helping distract his annoyance with the 2 week liquid diet!    Hes doing great on it  but it must be tough for a food lover like he is.
Beautiful weather in Mi today so I am gonna go enjoy my kidless month!!!   Mowing and bike riding today>  I have to get  used to riding bike for exercise as I cant walk for any length for exercise.  Hubby and I are fixing up his parents bikes and going on some adventures!   very short adventures to start for sure.  around the block for  me 3 times today!
prayers going out for all of you folk.  I firmly believe God knows what your needs are.
Have a happy Monday.

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

I'm back from Wisconsin/Chicago area after a busy weekend. My brother Gary made about $650 at his moving sale; I made about $45. Well, I had a lot of smaller stuff; he had furniture and kitchen stuff and a washer and dryer. I brought some clothes and nice sweaters, and none of them sold. Oh well ... I know Gary was happy I was there to help him out.

On Sunday, we all went down to my mom's, met my oldest brother Ed, his wife Margaret, her mom and my sister Rosemary there. Ed, Margaret, Gary and Rosemary were already there when I got there, cleaning out my old room to get it ready for Gary (that will be his bedroom). Mom was stressing out about it ... she wanted to see what they were doing. They threw out the old crappy bed and frame, the old console TV and a bunch of other stuff, put it in the alley ... someone already was looking at the stuff before we left for dinner. Then we went to Red Lobster for dinner, and after we ate, the staff came out and sang Happy Birthday to Mom and gave her an autographed card. She didn't have cake because she's diabetic It was very sweet.

The visit was bittersweet for me. This will be the last time I will see my family for a long time. I don't know when I'll get home again. It won't be like it has been for the past 10 years, when I was able to hop in the car and drive 4 hours home. I'll miss seeing Ben and Sam grow up, miss getting together with my brothers and SIL, who is my sister from another mother. And my mom, who is going downhill slowly now ... don't know when she will leave this world and I won't be able to get home quickly to say goodbye. I'm happy to get the opportunity for a new job, but sad to leave my family so far away.

Made the mistake of posting this on the Sunday thread ... so I just copied and pasted it to the Monday thread instead. Oops! I'm kinda spacey today. Lack of sleep.

Well, I have lots to get done today. I have two weeks before I move, and I have lots of pitching and packing to do. Have a good day.

Afternoon Carla & Everyone!

Carla I am sooo sorry to hear about you baby Girl Cat, how sad, now she is with all the other OFF 4-legged friends, playing just the other side of the rainbow bridge. . .  Glad to hear your daughter's and future son-in-law's engagment party was a success and you are enjoying your driving trip. . . I will have to check out the photos on Facebook when I get a chance. . .

This has been the first chance I am getting to stop by since Friday, as I had a busy weekend, some of which was made all the more enjoyable by attending my WLS support group at Barix on Saturday, followed by my youngest granddaughter's 3rd birthday party, after which I picked up Diane (my roommate) and headed to our Women's AA Saturday night meeting, after the meeting a group of us went to Friendly's and then we headed home where I finally caught up with the last 3 episodes of Grey's Anatomy, I turned off the television about 1:15 in the morning and figured I would sleep in, but Roxie had other plans for us so Sunday morning at 6:30, she woke me up, I gave her some petting time, fed her and figured since I was up so early I would attend an early morning AA meeting, after which I came home loaded Roxie into the car, took her to the dog park where she played with Jake the boxer and because it was hot and there was no shade in the dog park, we only stayed half an hour and just as I was getting ready to leave with her, one of my friends came by with her puppy, a mini toy poodle, so we stood in the shade of the trees for a little while and chatted, then walked back to our cars, whereupon I went home picked up Diane, dropped her at work and it was right around the time the stores open up, so I stopped in Ross' where I found a nice dress for $7.49 (a work dress) and a nice blouse for the same price, love a bargin. . .  after that I went to Produce Junction to pick up a few items for my weekly meal plans, onto BJs for a few things and then finally made it home, where I ate lunch, did some household things and waited for my son and his family to come over.

They arrived and I put Roxie on a leash until she calmed down, because she gets so excited when company comes and last time the kids were there, she knocked Avery over 2x and Avery was afraid of her after that. . . anyway, once Roxie calmed down, Avery wanted to pet her and by the time they left, Avery was no longer afraid and Roxie behaved very nicely with her, sat right next to her and her brother and mother liking the attention she was getting, at one point, she even got a smile out of my son, who has been very standoffish about her, but she was determined that he should pet her and she jumped up next to him and was grabbing his arm for him to pet her. . .  it was cute, anyway, I now have two new ceiling fans installed and after they left, I needed to run out to the supermarket, as I forgot one of the ingredients I needed to make the mock pizza.  I came home hungry and tired, so I ate, then went to bed to watch some of the Flyers game before retiring for the night.

This morning, I got up at 6 and cooked a bunch of things, including chilli, mock pizza and a piece of salmon, packed up my food and headed to the County Tax Assessors office to fight the reassessment on my property before finally heading into work, where I had lots waiting for me when I got here, so I took a short break to see what is up with everyone and I hope that you all have a good day.

Wishing you all the peace and strength to get through whatever you are experiencing today!

Hugs, Laureen
