Hi Jacki and everyone who follows this lovely Sunday morning,

I haven't been on OFF to know about the daily thread but I would guess that as the weather gets warmer people get going earlier and are busier.  My problem usually is that by the time I get on the OFF board it's later in the day, too late to post almost.  Everyone's off doing their own things by the time I get here.

What should have been a fun afternoon ended up being stressful and I am still mad about it.  We were to meet Linda (stepdaughter) at our grandson's favorite playground so she could play with him.

She showed up with him--the man that hurt Tomas and the reason Linda has supervised visitation in the first place.

All kinds of red flags went up.  Linda and that man are moving to TN next weekend.  After a year of supervised visitation all of a sudden she brings him?

I texted T's father who texted back he was on his way to the playground to get his son.  Having that man there was NOT okay with anyone except Linda and him.

Ted wouldn't let the guy out of the car.  We were trying to keep it all low key, keep Tomas away from it and enjoying the playground.  There was no yelling, no loud confrontations.  Still, kids know.  Pop-Pop wasn't climbing around on the equipment too.  I could tell our little guy was feeling anxious and didn't understand what was wrong.  Then Linda said she couldn't handle this, was having contractions, excuses blah blah blah and left.

T, his dad, Ted and I went back to the house because everyone was too stressed out to enjoy the playground anymore.

This was our special playground, the one Ted, T, and I discovered together.  We invited Linda to go there because T loved it so much and wanted to go.  It's almost like the place was desecrated, if that makes sense.  Yes, we'll go back but hope it won't leave a bad taste in T's mouth.  I hope he doesn't remember his anxiety from yesterday.  I feel very sad as well as angry.

Today and tomorrow will be hot and humid so we'll probably run the air conditioning.  If we didn't have to pay to park and pay to get onto the beach, I'd probably want to go down the shore.  On LI and in MD we used to be able to find community beaches that just had a nominal parking fee.  We didn't have to pay to get onto the beach too!  :(

Well, I guess I'm whining too much so I will shut up now and go get another cup of coffee.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and are enjoying your holiday weekend!

I'm here, but going back to bed. Had fun yesterday but probably "overdid". Today will be more of the same. We have an hour drive to my brother's house- we do this every year to celebrate our May birthdays. My daughter and"Sookie" (Granddog) are coming too. I'm actually looking more forward to Monday when I can just veg.  Sorry about the park experience with Little T. Hope you are feeling better and better Connie.

Good morning everyone...!!!!

Well I'm finally home!  6 days in the hospital was NOT my idea of fun..but they have finally got testing and data to prove that I do indeed still have severe reactive hypoglycemia with severe delayed dumping syndrome.  My body is screwed....gave me the glucose tolerance test...oh my I wanted to die.

But things will be better now..a little tweaking of the diet and all will be better.
Connie glad you are home and doing better.
Cassie...your adventure was stressful..I'm so sorry..but kids are very resilient..I'll be the next time you go to the part T will be fine.  Just remember to listen when he talks about it and do your best to make him feel special and loved.  All will be resolved.
Blessings and prayers to all in need..time for me to catch up to all I've missed at my house since last Sunday.

Like I said...6 days in the hospital was not my idea of a vacation.
  Happy Memorial Day everyone.

Marci....thanks for the good wishes. It sounds like you have gone through quite an ordeal yourself.

Being in the hospital isn't any fun....now at home you can at least get some rest.

I wish you well.....hugs......connie d

Hi, Jacki and those to follow.  We are having a relatively quiet weekend here.  It's 5:20 a.m. now.  Got up about an hour ago.  This morning we will be meeting Ron's mom for breakfast.  She is ill and so we would not be going out but rather will have coffee with her at the assisted living facility.

My mom has sufferend a hip fracture.  She is getting morphine for the pain and is comfortable.  In fact, we had an adult foster care owner do an assessment on her this past week to see if she qualifies to be there and while they were assessing her, she tried to get up out of her wheelchair 30 times.  They do not feel that they can care for her.  I am afraid she may not make it out of the nursing home.  Oh, well.  There is nothing I can do about it.

I just read the book MAKING THE ROUNDS WITH OSCAR.  It is an excellent book about the end of life process of dementia/Alzheimer's parients.  I found it to be comforting.

Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.

Came into town to shower and then we'll go back out to the campsite.  It has been a beautiful weekend so far.  Chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.  I hope it doesn't.  We ran the air in the camper yesterday but it was cool enough last night to turn it off for bedtime.  We ran out of propane, so I couldn't use the oven to bake my vegetable casserole.  DH is going to take our grill tank out today so I can use the stove for tonight.  I'm making Cracker Barrel carrots.  We are smoking ribs and steaks in the smoker this afternoon.

SIL just left on his Harley to meet his brother to ride for a couple of hours.  He'll be back.  The girls are getting their baths now and I'll hit the shower as soon as they are done.

We could shower in the camper, but it uses too much water and we don't want to have to fill the tanks.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
