Aloha Laureen and all of your wonderful OH friends.....

I'm really late for Thurs.......it's 3:15 p.m. here, but that makes it 9:00 p.m. on the east coast and some of you are probably in bed! Some day I'm going to start the daily thread at 6:00 p.m. Hawaii time.....because it WILL be the next day in New York!!!!

I've been missing you all so much, and come in and read and feel not a part of things which I don't like feeling. I'm happy to hear the good news and feel so badly when someone is going through one of life's challenges.

Lately, I have been working a lot.....more than I'd really like. I still screen the babies at the hospital about 3 or 4 mornings of the week, and now I've been filling in for people at the agency who are out for one reason or another. So, if I do say 8 babies beginning at 5:30 a.m. and then go to the office til 4:30....I have an 11 hour day. I feel like a noodle at the end of it. Tomorrow will be one of those days, but at least I have Sat., Sun and Mon. off....(unless I getting called in to be babies). I am grateful for the work and the paychecks, believe me......but have fewer hours than I'd like to just do whatever moves me.

I have been sitting out on my lanai in the mornings when I can to get at least a small tan. I hate being lily white, and especially living here....it's really ridiculous NOT to have a tan.

Gosh, Candy, you and I had surgery almost the same time, and I didn't realize that. I will be coming up for my 4 year exam in July. I do pretty good at taking my vitamins, but I will be glad to know if they are doing what they are supposed to do. Congratulations on hitting 4 years and still being very close to your goal.

Laureen....love that big sweetie of yours.......he and you both get so much from that love. My neighbor with the Shihtzu was just over and he is such a little love. He's shaggy and adorable, and is the best little dog. He rarely barks and moves slowly and lays down a lot....Ha! Makes it easy for my friend who is physically unable to walk far any longer. Bubba just sticks close to her side no matter where she is.

OK...I'm going to go reheat some left over pasta and have a poppy seed roll with it. Maybe a small salad and definitely some dark chocolate ice cream for dessert later.

So nice to pop back in and see so many of you. I do miss you, and love hearing your life's adventures.

Eileen...you go girl!! I have a feeling this is going to be a humdinger of a new chapter in your life.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen
