Waiting for them next week ... might just call them and tell them what others said I have for the weight and see what price they'd give me. I want to make this decision on Friday.

I've finally figured out Craig's List so that it doesn't drive me crazy! I post something for sale and tell people that if they don't reply with a real name and email or phone number I will NOT be getting in touch with them. I also put in all caps at the end of each post "NO SPAM, NO SOLICITING, I DON'T NEED TO GET RICH QUICK!!!! that seems to work well. Do you know anyone else who you could have hold the sale at their house?

I know it's a pain but it would sure save a lot if you got rid of as much as you can and then recruit friends to help load after you are packed. We have hired college students before. You can contact a high school football team (fundraiser), a youth sports group, a community college. Even some of the workers that work around the condo might be interested in an extra day's pay. Sure would save your back and arms! Just thoughts.

Good morning Laureen & all,

I already have a furfaced spoiled brat - Tom.

The day is warm and sunny so I decided to go outside and wash my car. The car looks good but I am all sweaty and dirty. That is much better than shivering cold.

Marcy has been in the hospital since Sunday. They are running all sorts of tests to figure out what the heck is going on with her. At this point the crew of doctors don't have a clue if it is related to WLS, thyroid,  her endocrin system or what. She has a smile on her face as always.

Must shower and see my therapist.

Kisses to all

Your Tom, from what you've given us glimpses of, is very much like my Roxie (lol), in other words, very lovable. . .

Please give Marcy my best wishes. . .  as for your car, well it's a great day for doing such things, one way to keep cool ;)  though you are always cool ;)

Hugs, L

Laureen:

My friend Mary Kay is adopting a dog a year after her dog died. She is so excited. I can't remember the breed ... it's some Cuban breed ... she always got Alaskan Eskimo dogs before. Anyway, it is a 1-year-old and has been living in a kennel, poor baby.

Eileen,

That is great news!  I think the best thing we can do when we lose a pet, is to get another that has been languishing in a shelter/rescue organization and give them the love and kindness they deserve.  If she has not ever had a "rescue animal", tell her the best thing she can do is be patient, consistent with the dogs feeding and needs schedule and if the poor thing has been in a kennel that long, it may be aloof initially or anxious when she leaves it to go anywhere.  Our four-legged friends are generally very grateful for a loving home and I'm sure both of them will be blessed.

I wish I could afford another dog, so Roxie would have a playmate in residence, as I know she loves to play with other dogs, but financially, I am still paying off Dillinger and heaven forbid a health issue arises with her, I just can't do it, as it is, Roxie is on a diet that is more expensive because she had grain issues, so between food, treats, heartworm and flea medicine, she roughly costs me about $150 per month and I've yet to get her health insurance, as I am confused as to which one and what plan to get. . .  VPI did not pay as well as I had hoped and while something beat nothing at all, I am looking for a better plan.

Anyway, best of luck to your friend!

count on prayers from me . . .  as for the heat, I was going to take Roxie to the dog park last night, figured it would be cool enough by 7, but the humidity, along with the heat, kept me from it, she does not seem to handle the heat very well, she does love the a/c, which I had flowing all day yesterday and again today, must keep my furbaby comfortable. . .

Good morning Laureen and everyone!

Whew, it's really warm today.  Thank heavens for a/c.  Tomorrow it's supposed to be *very* cool--this weather's really nutty!

Today's a more laid back day.  I have nowhere scheduled to be and so I'm going through some stuff that piled up, either filing it in my cabinet, dealing with it, or pitching it.

Tonight we're brainstorming ideas with the kids about what our options might be.  They basically boil down to (a) stay in the house or (b) leave.  The brainstorming will be about the different options under a & b.

Have a glorious day all!

Cassie
