Good Morning Friends!

Having my coffee, after the Roxie girl nosed me up for petting time at 5:45 this morning, grrrr. . .  anyone want a furfaced spoiled brat to pet and love. . .  lol, just kidding. . .

Anyway, today I have work, my AA homegroup meeting and then home to bed. . .  exciting isn't it?

Hope all is well with you, I'll check in later this morning, as I can, work is pretty quiet this week. . .

Wishing you all a wonderful day and the peace and strength to get through whatever life brings to you!

Hugs, Laureen

Couldn't get to sleep last nite....finally took a tylenol PM and fell asleep around 1:30, then up at 6:30.  Have to take van in to have front left wheel checked out -- could have a bad bearing.

Going on a trip this weekend, so need the car to be in good shape.

I am so not doing good with my weight - stepped on the scales this morning and I am up 20 lbs from my lowest wt.....nothing I seem to do makes any difference.  Maybe I'll have to go back on the water pills...don't want to, but my feet and legs are swelling again.   Please say a prayer for me.....My blood sugars are higher with this wt gain and I have to get the wt back off.

They cancelled my endoscopy for next Wednesday -- seems Dr. Kemmeter is not going to be available  (this has been scheduled for a month!)   Now it's going to be on June 23rd.

Gotta run to the repair shop.   Have a great day.

Said a prayer for you, Pat.  Best wishes to you.  It's *hard* to get stubborn weight off and keep it off even after surgery!

Hi Laureen and those to come to post later!
I'm off work Fri thru Mon...wow 4 days off work, time to play and have fun.

I will have my soon to be 8 year old granddaughter with me all weekend, just me and Rozzie.
Plans are to go to the beach, do some shopping, she needs summer clothes, we lowered the temp in the hot tub so it's more like a pool for us since we haven't gotten the pool up yet.
Going to church on Sunday then go see my MIL after church. Riding our bikes and walking too, thank goodness this is a very active child and just loves being on the go.
Rozzie does keep me young.

Hubby left last night for Kentucky to go 4-Wheeling with his buddies. I just told him to be careful and not do something dangerous, sounds like they really have steep hills there.

Everyone have a great weekend and Memorial Day for me will be giving thanks to our
Veterans in prayer and saying it out loud to those hero's living amongst us. Hugs- Debbie

Getting some laundry done before I leave for work - bedding from the camper.  I'll hang it outdoors before I go to work.  Tonight we'll get the camper cleaned and ready to roll.  I'm looking forward to our first "group" camping weekend of the season.  Any all our kids/grandkids will be here to enjoy it with.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Good Morning, Laureen and All

I'm headed into the "big city" today to see my WLS surgeon for my 4 year checkup.  I got copies of my labs yesterday, and they all look good.  I know I really should be taking one more multivitamin a day, and I continue to work on that.

My weight has held pretty steady for the past 2 years.  I'd like to drop about 10 of the lbs I regained, but I guess that puts me right where "normal" people are.  Gone are the days that I was looking at trying to get off 50 or 75 lbs, and more.  I've lost a few of them, but they crawl back into my belly and butt, then I lose them again.  Just like "normal" people.

It's been a fun ride, and I've met so many wonderful people along the way.

Everyone have a great holiday weekend.

I'll be in the garden....

Candy, You are so right! What a ride it has been. I look at your "Granny" photo and just still can not believe that was you. You haven't just stepped out of your "box" you have destroyed it on the way out. Look at you! You look wonderful and more importantly you are out there going and doing so many things that you werren't before WLS. Now retired, I know you will continue the enjoyment of this new life we have been fortunate enough to reclaim. I see you volunteing, enjoying your beautiful yard, traveling and most of all enjoying people. Take advantage and enjoy to the hilt each and every day my friend!

Good morning Laureen and Friends,

Had a special day yesterday in a classroom filled with life skills students. They were between 10-12 yrs old but much younger skills wise. One was autistic, another in a wheelchair with very little visible cognition, several just very "delayed." They are so appreciative and loving! Very basic "life"  training. Such as after lunch it was "hygeine" time. Teethbrushing, face washing and putting on deodorant. Very seriously and matter of factly. The young woman who teaches them has just been working a couple of years but she is wonderful. They day went quickly and I felt needed. I was exhausted physically and emotionally. I'm hoping they call me back there today and tomorrow as the person I subbed for is out the rest of the week.

Planted a few more spots of color in the yard. My new neighbor had "leftovers." Absolutely can not throw anything out so stuffed them into any vacant spot I could find.

Must get in gear. Laureen, give Roxie an extra tickle behind the ear or wherever she wants one. Sounds like she is a real "hands on girl" when it comes to loving.

Everyone have a great day.

Karen,

Sounds like you had a heartwarming, bittersweet day yesterday. . .  my yards are a work in progress and with my friend Owen and Emily's help, it will become something very beautiful to enjoy.  My tomato plants seem to be thriving too. . .

As for the Roxie girl, she is truly a love hound and will demand that you give it to her, funny how dogs personalities evolve and can be so similar yet different. . .  anyway, take care and hope you have a great day!

Hi Laureen and my OFF family:

Workmen are pounding on the condo outside. After eight years of living here, they are finally doing repairs to the exterior. About time! The place looks atrocious!

I found out yesterday that the condo association charges $200 for its members to have a moving sale, and you have to have an estate sale professional run it. That's such BS I can't believe it. I can't wait to get out of here. I love this condo, it's such a nice space, but I hate all these rules. I had fewer rules in apartments that I lived in. So now I can't try to sell anything other than in ads (I tried Craigslist once, and all I got were people wanting to sell me things).  I ran an ad in the paper and its Web site, so hopefully that will bring me some nibbles. Maybe I'll join in my brother's rummage sale. But then I'd have to bring everything to Wisconsin to have the moving sale ... kind of a pain in the ass, if you know what I mean.

Got a few more estimates from movers... still don't know what I'm going to do. I like the idea of the U-pack place, but then I also like the idea of having someone do most of it for me so I don't have to worry about the majority of it ... I have loaders promised on this end, it's the other end I'm worried about. And then not knowing when the trailer would get there is another problem. Ah, decisions, decisions!

Just ordered a bunch of my prescription refills online so I would have that taken care of before I go ... I figure I'll probably move June 20 or something like that. Today I'm going to start packing and pitching. I have one more mover coming over for an estimate, then I'll make my decision.

Anyway, have a nice day.
