I got the job!

I had this message almost finished when for some reason, OH erased it on me.

Anyway, you can tell I'm excited because I was offered the job in Monroe, La., at the Content Production Center for Gannett Louisiana. I had an early morning flight out this morning, then drove home from Chicago and got home at 5 p.m. to find the message from the woman in Monroe offering me the job ... and the money is just a little bit better than I was originally told.

I still have to take a drug test ... pretty common nowadays ... not worried about it at all. Just so excited!  I have a job! Someone wants me again! I am valuable!

That is so AWESOME!  Now, I want details - when do you start?  What will the process be for moving your things, etc.?

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

I will start either June 28 or July 6, depending on how fast I can get my stuff down there, conclude on the short sale of my condo, sell some of my stuff, etc. Plus, I still have to pass the drug test. I have to figure out if I'm going to get movers or rent a truck and enlist some of my former coworkers who took buyouts to help move me.

Lots of decisions to make ...

Don't eat anything with poppy seeds before your drug test!  I understand they can make your test show positive.  I LOVE poppy seed salad dressing.  I'm not allowed raw veggies yet, but when I can, the PS dressing is coming out. YUM.

Eileen:  CONGRATULATIONS!  What wonderful news. Your are valuable with or without a job.  However, I do understand how it feels to be wanted (or not wanted) by an employer.  All the positive thinking and actions paid off big time.  This is the beginning of a new, exciting chapter in your life.  I am soooooo happy for you!

I guess everything does happen for a reason  -  lay off in cold Michigan equals new job in much warmer Louisiana  -  equals less pain from freezing weather.
Congratulations on the new job!!!!!!!
