I hate to jinx it but ...

I think I may have a job!

(this is me jumping, the only jumping I would ever do.)

I'm still in Monroe, because my flight out to Atlanta tonight got canceled because of maintenance, and I wouldn't have made my connecting flight to Chicago, so Delta put me up at the Holiday Inn, gave me meal vouchers (although the one for breakfast won't be any good because the restaurant doesn't open in time).

But the interview went well. I think they were ready to hire me from the moment I stepped off the plane as long as I passed the copy editing test and didn't act like a total idiot. They basically showed me around the town, where the good apartments were and where the restaurants and fun things to do were. People were very friendly and nice. I had a good time, but very exhausting. I'm tired and ready to go home, but I'm in a hotel for another night. I'm off to have a beer and put my feet up ... maybe I'll hit the pool for awhile.

Anyway, I've missed y'all ... getting my Southern accent going there ... even had gumbo today! Excited about maybe getting a new job. Never thought I would have a nibble and now here it is.

I know what you mean by the title but you deserve something great to happen. You've been through so much already.

Chickens are swinging, prayers are out there, the climate is better, the city shuts down when it snows (the company I work for has an office in Atlanta and they shut down with an inch).

Enjoy yourself at the Holiday Inn, have a beer and relax. All the jumping you are doing is burning off those beer calories now (lol)

That is wonderful! Sounds like a pretty sure thing to me too since they showed you around town. They don't usually do that if they aren't interested!
