Thank you Connie. You always lift my spirit.

I'm not so small. My waist was too big before. Still need to whittle it down. Oh well, after so many years of being super morbidly obese, it will never get tiny.

Hope your hair turns out better.

Kisses

Glad all is good with Tom's lab report. There was a thing on Good Morning America the other day about skin cancer ... the weather guy had a spot removed on the air. They said anyone who has a serious burn as a child is susceptible to skin cancer as an adult ... well, I did, several times, until I got wise and started using sunscreen. I don't tan, I burn.

Congrats on the wow moment ... I tried to go to the pool this week, but it was closed. Thought about it this afternoon, but my headache has returned, along with the mother of all hot flashes while I was shopping.

Eileen,

I burn too. It took me a long time to figure out I need to use sunscrren without PABA - that makes me break out in hives.

A headache AND hot flashes - bummer. Not a good combination. Feel better.

Good morning.  We got home from Kansas City about 8:30 this morning.  On the way home I got a text from our daughter in law that our good friend Jim passed early this morning.  He had lung cancer.  I'm so sad.  He and his wife and us always attended our boy's football games when they were in high school.  Good people.  I'm going to meet my DIL at 3:30 this afternoon to take a meat tray to the house.  Doctor said I couldn't drive if I'm taking pain meds, but haven't had or needed any since bedtime last night, so I'll be fine to drive over there.  For someone who never had surgery before WLS in February, my abdomen now looks like a road map.  I now have 10 incisional scars.  UGH.  Our 6 year old grandson had surgery at 1 month old and still bears the scar on his tummy.  When someone asks him what that is from, he tells them he was in a knife fight and you should see the other guy.  He says it in such a sweet little voice.  His uncle Skye taught him to say that.  Naughty man. Guess maybe I should use that line if someone ever asks me that question.

I'm feeling really good today.  There is some discomfort if I bend, but otherwise I'm doing good.  I just put a load of laundry in and will hang it on the line when it finishes.  The sun is actually shining today.

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Wanda,

Sorry to hear about your good friend Jim and I can understand your sadness, I heard a song yesterday while driving to work, I think it is by Carrie Underwood, and it is about temporary homes (which to me I equated with our bodies), anyway, as I listened to that song, it made me think of my Mom, my cousin and some of the people I've lost to one thing or another and it brought me to tears, many of those I thought of have been gone a long time, but missing them and what they brought into mine and other's lives is a testament to their having been here, hoping your sadness passes and your memories bring a measure of peace.

Glad to read you are doing ok

Laureen

Thanks Laureen.  Jim had been in pain a long time, so now at least he is no longer in pain.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

As for scars, I feel the same way about my knee ... my incision goes from above my knee to way below it now ... a lot of good it did, I'm still in pain.

Thanks Eileen - Oh the scars!  Ugly.  But not as ugly as the fat that is disappearing as we speak. LOL
