Exercise......Let's get moving - Monday

Good Morning.
I had a hard time getting started this morning.....still not fully charged and going (need tea or coffee!).

So I rode my bike for the first time since last Nov.  I was so excited to get back on it.  The incisions didn't hurt at all until about 20 mins into the ride.  I was amazed how my leg muscles didn't hurt....I was shocked at how out of breathe I got.  WOW, I'm out of shape.....just goes to prove laying around for the majority of the last 6 months has zapped me. 

I'm going to take it slow to get back into the swing of things....I'm going to go every other day for this week (I'll see how I am next week).  I am also going to go slow because of the swelling.  I swell up by last night after my ride yesterday and then was up on my feet a lot of the day plus I only wore a regular compression garment no compression hose so my calves and feet got swollen again.  Tomorrow I go to a masseuse who is certified in lymphatic drainage massage...I'm hoping that will help (I hear it is does).

I'm also going to get in my pool this week and do some water aerobics...running around the pool, kicking, etc.  I miss my big pool back in NY...it was a beautiful big and deep pool.  :-(   This pool is so small compared to it (but a lot easier to maintain).  The water temp in the pool is holding between 81-84 and that's without a heater running....just the sun!!  Awesome!

So, I've got my exercise plan for the week all worked out in my head......how about you.....what are you doing?

I did 30+ mins on the recumbent bike with a good book.... in fact the book was so good, that when I finally glanced up the 30 min program was over and I was still peddling.... no telling how far or long I really went... LOL

How quickly the weather can change here. Absolutely gorgeous all weekend, raining lightly this morning. However, that won't stop me from a long walk on the beach later this morning. On my way back to my daughter's about checking out a summer rental at Copalis Beach, Wa. I like to actually see the places before committing to several days rental (wi**** could be several weeks!). I have rain gear with me so the rain won't stop me.

 Ruth I like to kick around in  my hot tub. I think it helps loosen everything up and I can actually walk in place if I stand in the middle of it.

Hi Ruth....no walking for me today....my hip is killing me.

I will do my 45 minutes on my exercise ball...that is a sure thing!!

Good Tuesday morning Ruth...sorry this is late, had a busy overwhelming day at work yesterday. It will be again today, but isn't that life?? LOL

I'm glad you did well on the bike, just take is slow and steady.

I did water aerobics yesterday after work, got in the pool and worked out by myself for 30 minutes before class with 2-#5 hand-weights, working my arms, did walking lunges in the pool and jogged. Asked the trainer what we would be working on when I got in the pool and she replied "don't know yet"...crap, I like to know beforehand so I can work out my whole body. After doing weights for 20 minutes she came up to me and said "we will be doing arms and legs today"...okay so stopped with the weights and did squats in the water, lunges and jumping jacks. All in all I had a fab workout but man, my arms hurt today!

It's suppose to rain all day today but if it stops I'll take a walk for sure! Hugs- Debbie
