for those who've had plastics....a question
Hey everyone,
Yep, I'm getting serious about plastics (tummy/breasts) and I'm just wondering if you all could give me your input about recovery time. I know, I know, everyone is different, but I"m trying to plan all of this and get those pesky ducks in their row.
Gary and I are planning a vacation in the Fall. Since I'm self employed I hate to take off a bunch of time, and it might be better if I just take say, two weeks for plastics and then combine a week into it for vacation. That way I don't have to explain time off twice. Clients can be so nosey!
So....what do you think? Would I need more than 2 weeks before traveling?

Hi Susan,
I had my TT and Breast Lift done last Sept. It was one of the easiest procedures for me.
I had very little swelling in my tummy. Other than the first day after surgery I didn't really have much pain, just kind of uncomfortable. You can't stand straight for a while...everyone is different, I know some women who could not straighten up for 2 weeks, others it was about 10 days.
I felt really good at 2 weeks and pretty great at 3 weeks but I was not working and other than light chores around the house I was taking it pretty easy which helped my healing.
I have to be honest....I don't think I would plan travel at 2 weeks. The swelling could get bad...
Don't forget too you will be in a tight compression garment for a few weeks so if you are going anywhere warm you will be uncomfortable.
Let me know if you want to chat about plastics....send me a PM if you want to chat and I'll give you my phone number.

Hi Susan,
I had two different set of plastics (upper and lower). For my upper body (breasts, arms, neck and lower face) I was off work for 1 week. For my lower body I was off work for 2 weeks.
I agree with Ruth that I wouldn't plan on traveling afterwards...you never know whether you will have complications and want to be near your physician. I've read the plastic surgery forum for at least 2 years every day and many people have complications. You'd be better off to plan a trip when you are feeling well.
If you have questions on plastics, I'd be happy to talk to you also.
All the best. It's fantastic and I feel 40 years younger by having that aging hanging skin gone.
