4am West Coast time, What's new this Thursday with you?

I am so anxious to be on the road. Even tho I'm just going to see the grandbabies. . . Mike is going a cruise to Alaska with a dear, newly retired buddy. . . I can hardly wait to get going. Everything is packed. Washed dishes, cleaned out fridge, left notes about plants, mowing, watering, etc. . . I should just be a night time traveler. Never sleep the night before.

Exercising will be a challenge for me the next 12 days. No gym available. Plenty of wonderful walking trails. Taking a rain jacket as it is often raining at Erin's. I iwll have during the day to exercise every day so nothing but excuses if I don't do it. A little rain surely won't kill me!

I'll have my laptop along so I'll check back in later today. What's new with you? I'm looking forward to having the next 10 days or so off with no work. Time with my daughter and her family while Mike is gone. Hoping to have lunch with Grammylew from NC while she is out this way visiting and helping with grandchildren in Oregon.

Good morning Karen and OFF family.

All is well except work is very stressful right now. I will get through this and continue to put a smile on my face and try to uplift my working buddies. I'm happy I have a job here in Michigan...and I do love my job.

My hubby passed his test to get his Pesticide license. He was so worried. Now he can add that to his resume. He's a mason but there is no building going on here so it's time to learn a new career because 53 is too young not to work.

Karen, enjoy your time with the grandbabies...they grow up so fast!
Hugs and prayers to all in need. Debbie

Had a terrible night.....first mistake, ate a pork chop for supper....yes I chewed it well, but it got stuck so I was up and down all nite throwing up.    Then I guess I overdid on the exercise bike because my R hip (the replacement one) hurt badly too.

Anyway it's gonna be a long day, have my last PT session in a few minutes then after that need to pick up a couple items at the grocery store that I thought I had, but don't.   Have to make two carmel apple salads for tomorrow's spring salad luncheon at church.   Ladies Aid at 1:00 p.m. other wise I'm going to rest.

Have a great day,
Pat

Good Morning Sunshine!  It's a beautiful day here in southwest Iowa.

Yesterday at work we had an inservice by a drug enforcement officer who spoke to us about signs and things to look for to recognize a meth lab.  Our home care nurses go into lots of homes and he wants them to be aware of the signs and if they see something that just doesn't look right, they are to find an excuse to leave, then call law enforcement.  Even though I don't go to homes, I attended the inservice too.  It was quite interesting.  He also spoke about what to look for along the roads in their travels throughout the county.  Part of the meth is being made out on country roads because the smell is strong.  If they do it in their home, neighbors would smell it.  So he talked about what to look for there.  Meth is the largest illegal drug problem in Iowa.  He also said that he has never done a bust when there weren't young children in the home.  How sad is that?!

Tonight grandpa and I are taking Alex (she'll be 13 Monday) and Jarod (he turned 6 4/22) out to dinner for their birthdays.  We usually take just the birthday child, but our schedules just weren't working to take Jarod.  Alex is such a sweetheart, she suggested that we take both at the same time.

Then Saturday, we'll take Sena who will be 4 on Monday.  We have to travel to Des Moines to take her out.  They all get to choose where they want to eat.  Sena is choosing Subway and Alex and Jarod have chosen a local restaurant with "real" food.  I'm sure this was Alex's idea, because she never chooses fast food.  Jarod is easily persuaded.  Given a choice, it would have been McDonald's for him.

Well I better take my vitamins.  UGH

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

I have sad news.  My sister has Uterine cancer.  The good part is that it has been caught early.  She is stage 1, I was stage 2.  So I will support her and walk her through the process.  She is really scared because next week she is scheduled for a biopsy on a lump in her breast as well.  She also has been dealing with capilaries bursting in her eye and having analgesic shots in her eye every couple of weeks.  My sister is morbidly obese.  She has been on Weigh****chers in recent weeks and lost 31 lbs.  She is single and three years younger than me.
Please send her your prayers.
Bev

so sorry ... my thoughts are with you and your sister. I have not gone through cancer but having been SMO, I can understand the pain she is going through, especially being single. We singles have to stick together!
