Good Sunday Morning!
I just wanted to say that I'm thinking of you, been busy living my life and have not had a lot of time to spend here with you all, but I briefly glanced in this am and thought I would start the post, this way I can see what you are are up to later as I get the post responses, which I so love . . .
Glad to see our Maui sister pop her head in and give us a update and glad to read that Susan and Gary are ok too!
Well I took Tony to a ballgame yesterday (for his upcoming birthday) at the Philles stadium, we had great seats, 15 rows from the field behind the Phillies dugout, unfortunately the Phillies trounced our team, the METS, oh well the day was great otherwise.
I am off to visit my uncle, who is up for a weekend for his grandson's communion and birthday, as you might recall he was diagnosed with lung cancer almost 2 years ago and as of late, is not doing real great, I was supposed to go to NC to visit with him at Easter, but he was not up to it, so I am going to leave in a few minutes, drive the 150 miles up, visit with him and my brother as well, as he lives right near my cousin (uncle's son) and we will all celebrate my young cousin's birthday, then the drive home, so you can understand what my life entails and why I am not here as often as I used to be, work, homelife, family, I so greatful to the life I can lead now all as a result of having lost weight via WLS. . .
Oh well, let me run. You all have a wonderful day and I wish you peace and strength to carry on with whatever life brings your way!
Hugs, Laureen

Sound like you have been busy. I guess that is good!
Rainy here and cold again. I know April brings showers but what the heck it is May now!
Well... I don't really have anything going on today. Just relaxing I think.
Everyone have a good day and keep safe in this nasty weather.
Peace
I am on my way. What a ride it has been.

Well, I got everything done yesterday, and spent a fun evening with my 2 nieces playing pinochle. Was soundly trounced, as I expected. It's been a lot of years since I played.
Today a friend is driving out my way and we're going to hit a few greenhouses, sort of as a preview of what we might want to add to our gardens this Spring. As if I need anything! Yesterday I gathered up 5-5 gallon buckets of perennials from a friend who's eliminating her garden. It's not the right timeof year to dig bulbs, but this is when they're available, so I'll just be extra careful when I plant them and they'll do fine.
When we get home, if it's not raining I'll do a little weeding to make room for the new (and new to me) stuff. Looks like the weather's not going to be too fine this week, so will be working inside on my wood trim most of the time.
It's so nice not having to plan around my job. I'm really enjoying the freedom to change plans at will.
Now, if I could only leave a few days here and there unplanned... Maybe work on a tan?
Yeah, right....
Everyone have a great day.

Congrats on your retirement and the ability to enjoy your life freely, I am definitely a bit green, but hey, hopefully, one day I will get to retire and because I had WLS might even be healthy enough to enjoy it!

Whew! Another bumpy night here in Central AR, another 8 tornadoes down and doing their damage, but fortunately, the closest one was about 10 miles from us. Actually, places that were hit on Friday night were hit again. Such destruction and devastation. It's so sad. But, Arkansans are resilient, and family, friends and more fortunate neighbors are already helping those affected start the clean up process. It's what we're all about here!
My computer bit the dust in all of this. It was getting to then end of it's life anyway, but I sure wish I would have listened to my computer friends and backed up my data. I'm sure it's all hopelessly gone. We'll take it to Best Buy today and see what the Geeks can do about recovering. Sure didn't want to spend the money for a new one now, but I gotta keep connected!!!
The worst part? I can't get to my Fitday.com (premium version that;s downloaded)!!!! Oh God, a day without logging? How will I survive????? EEEEEEGADS!!!!

Good Morning Laureen and Friends,
It's still cool and breezy here. We planted our tomatos several weeks ago and they aren't doing much of anything. Need some warm weather! I had to chuckle reading a reply to Maui Karen. Funny as in memories of years gone by. Carolyn (grammylew) mentioned May 1 being "lei day" when they were in Hawaii many years ago.
I have memories of a similar date from my college days. I'm sure Central Washington State College wasn't the only school which knew this poem: "Hooray, hooray it's the 8th of May. . . outdoor intercourse begins today!" Don't remember ever recall seeing this particular outdoor sport performed but it was kind of a spring fling kind of feeling. Winter's over, school's coming to a close for the year and it's time to celebrate! Anyone else share this memory or was it just us weirdos on the West coast?
I did over 9 miles at the gym yesterday. Got started watching "Legend of Bagger Vance" and just kept working on the eliptical til the end of the movie. Won't make a habit of that as I'm so stiff I can hardly move this morning. However, it sure is great to know that I CAN do it. What a different world than mine prior ot WLS in 2005. I had to stop and rest every 100 ft or so and that was on level ground.
Today will be spent getting stuff ready for the week. Three days of working and then off to Seattle until May 17th. Hope you all have a nice day.
