Good Morning!

I'm quietly celebrating that I finally achieved LifeTime membership at WW.  The first time I joined was around 1972 or 1973 when my parents forced me to do so.  Since then I must have joined at least 15- 20 times.  I re-joined last year when I wanted to lose an extra 10 lbs and mainly wanted to learn how to do maintenance successfully (since I've never done that for very long in the past).
Anyhow, it's one of those things that I just wanted to accomplish......I can cross off my bucket list now.  :-)

Next thing for me to tackle is the darn fear of flying.  I'm determined to overcome it.  Getting a little better.  Been watching a lot of videos on-line about overcoming the fear.  Thinking very seriously about doing something rather  radical to face the fear head on.  Well see.....

My swelling is going down but I really have to be careful that I don't over do things and I have to keep wearing the compression pantyhose which are not so comfortable but they are doing the job.

We hope to transplant and replace a few of the citrus trees this weekend.  I'll be do my guiding the process than actually doing the work...thankfully Matthew is being a BIG help in the yard while I'm recuperating.  He did a MASSIVE amount of weeding earlier in the week.  I owe him big time.

Have a great day!!

Good Morning All,
I'm in the midst of the craziest time in the special ed school year- that's the main reason that I don't check in much. The stress of April/May puts me on edge. I see the light at the end of this year's tunnel, but now we are all worried about next year. There is NO MONEY for staff, but lots of work that has to be done. I'm trying to let it go... but it's so daunting that I'm looking more and more at my retirement picture.
My friend Jo and I gave another friend a baby shower on Sunday... I can't do anything in a small way, so it was beautiful- a tea party with each table set with a different theme. I guess you had to be there. It's hard to explain. It was exhausting, but fun.
I'm feeling depressed- not major depression, but that low grade stuff. I'm sure I'll fee better when I can truly relax.
Our Relay for Life is this weekend too. I have been very involved for three years (one year prior to my diagnosis and two after). This year I've stepped way back....I'm just not into it any more. I do think it's a great cause, but I guess I overdid. Plus they were depending on me too much during my busiest work time. Stress is not good for me.
On top of everything else I'm struggling with weight gain...DAMN IT!
Some good things are happening too... we are getting a new shed built with our tax return money. It will be large, on a cement foundation, with one window. It will hold all of my Christmas decorations and other doo dads that are cyclical.  Our garage will be for CARS ONLY! What a concept! The shed will do double duty by housing my husband when I need a break! LOL... Truthfully, I so understand what you are saying about needing alone time. I worry about retirement because we will be together so much more. I love being independent. It will be interesting.
That's it for me. My world in a nutshell. Happy Weekend!

oh julia!!! i am laughing about your shed for your husband!!! i told my mom the same thing the other day about ours!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Jan and Friends, Why oh why can't these little part time jobs stay part time? I worked 32 hours this week. Next week I'll work the first 3 days and then we head out of town til May 18th. Mike's going on the Inside Passage cruise with a dear friend who just retired; I'll spend the week visiting my son and sis in law in Seattle and then down to Erin's to play with the twins most of the week. Erin says they are into "jewels" so I'm going through my mom's costume jewelry and taking them some "bling!"

I've been planting more perennials and working on getting my flower bed watering fine tuned. Trying to get the hand watering down to a minimum. From June through September we get little or no rain. I do mean desert; 6-8 inches a years. . . .so watering is a real chore in order to have pretty yards. Am loving the sprinkler system. We hadn't had one in years so it's nice to be able to set them to go on early in the morning so it makes the most of the watering.

Looking forward to having 2 days to do whatever I want to. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Karen C
