Hi Carla:
Been wondering what you've been up to!  It's never an easy thing to put someone in a nursing home -- been there, done that.

Don't work too hard,

Morning Carla and all to come,
I'm rushing out to an eye doctor appointment but just wanted to stop by to say hello.

I'm having some new swelling issues....maybe it's all the walking/shopping I did on Thurs, Friday and Sunday.  I've got sausage fingers and toes and I just feel uncomfortable.  I think I'm going to have to be very strict with myself this afternoon and stay horizontal with feet elevated.  I've never had such bad swelling problems after plastic surgery...hope it ends soon so I can take my trip home in a few weeks.

Update on my fear of flying........... I"m still FROZEN and have not booked any tickets.
I really want to be able to fly but just can't get the courage up to do it.

Hope everyone is doing well.  I'll check back later

Good mornin' ya'll.

It IS Monday!  One day is the same as another when you are retired, though. Our DIL brought left over honey BBQ chicken wings for our lunch today.  She is such a sweetheart!  Our son made a good choice 20 years ago!

My DH has this new idea that we need a Prius.  Not sure why.  Our Buick is in great shape and I love it (he doesn't even drive).  PLUS it's paid for.  My DH is only 6' tall but VERY long in the torso (his inseam is 29").  Plus he still weighs over 300 pounds.  Today I am taking him to 'try on' a Prius and see how hard it is for him to get in it!  At least I HOPE it is hard for him to get in!

CT scan on Wednesday, after drinking that chalky stuff.  Relay for Life on Friday.  Survivors walk is at 6:45. A good way to cap off the week.

I know how hard it is to try to take care of family members.  Moving them, worrying about their health, trying to get along with all of them. I hope all of you that are dealing with these issues can get them resolved and still have everyone on speaking terms.

Everyone who is having their own health, work, or financial issues, I think of you and pray for you daily.

Have a fantabulous day!

Grammylou,
Oh I did the same thing. My car was paid off and my husband wanted to go look at a Mazda 5. I hated the stupid thing and the sales person was very pushy!!!! I gently took my keys off his desk and left!!!!! Then we headed over to the Honda place to try on a Honda Fit!!!! Well you know what happened we walked out of there with a new car....Watch out it can be contagious!!!!!

Carla,

So did you get a FIT?  My friend, a retired school teacher (who I met through this WLS journey) traded in her Solara last year for one and she loves it!  I think they are real cute, but I will say that despite the recalls and whatnot, I am happy with my 2009 Corolla, even after the deer mishap, it's a great car, I average about 38 mpg and I appreciate it even more after driving around in that Nissan Versa for 2-1/2 weeks, a waring blender on wheels is what I thought of that car (lol). . .

Hope you enjoy the new car!

Hugs, L

Laureen,
That is funny you say taht about the Nissan Versa. I have one of those too. It is a white one and I love the drive ofit.  But I love my Fit also. I never have had a Honda. I am loving the fact I am getting 35 miles to the gallon on thehighway and about 32 in the city..... Carla

Grammylew,

I went car shopping three weeks ago, fell in love with a Corolla.  Found one in Maryland for $2300 cheaper at a Car Max.  Took hubby with me, and we came home with a Camry - but.....I LOVE it!  We got the Camry for what the Corolla would have been in PA.  Now I'm glad I took him with me.  He drives an SUV.  I had a Hyundai Sonata I traded in.  It was time, things were breaking and the car wasn't worth the investment.  Toyota offered 0% financing -- too good to refuse.  Good luck with your decision.

You know Grammy, the Prius is not all that bad for a small car, however, not sure how it fits a man of your husband's stature.  Enjoy the day, so glad you are doing well.

Hugs, Laureen
