Up with the rooster this morning. What's going on?
Margo,
I got a nice small thermos at Marshalls or Ross' a while back, I think I paid like 3.99 for it and it works great for keeping coffee warm, matter of fact one day I left it in the car and believe it or not at 6 p.m. when I went to dump it in the sink at home, it was still warm. . . keep you eyes out for one, I think I might have even got mine in the clearance as the top was slightly dented. . .
Just an idea. . .

Back when Michael and I started this WLS journey, we opted for a Keurig Coffee maker (single serve) - the little inserts are pricey, but you can do your own with a special insert and for us, it gave us the single serving with the drip taste - it's really good.

I found my Keurig maker at a yard sale for $25! Snapped it up quick!! It's one of the older models, that makes a 6 oz or 8 oz cuppa, so I run the 6 oz through twice with the same coffe "pod" and get a perfect 12 oz cup of coffee. When it breaks down, hopefully many years from now, I'll get the new improved model that makes a 12 oz cup with a single push of a button.
I also like iced coffee in the summer, and I just fill a tall glass up with ice, and brew a strong cup of coffee directly into it.
I think the thing I like the best is that the coffee is always the same.
Plus, when I registered it on line, even though it was used, I got 2 free boxes of K cups when I bought 2 boxes. They always have specials on line, and Costco ahas bigger quantities comparably cheap.
But before I had the maker, the single serve bags worked great, and were very convenient.

Good Morning everyone. It's Friday! We had plans to go to Des Moines to visit our daughter and family this weekend, but Wed. the 18month old was vomiting, yesterday the 3 year old, then last night our daughter started in. It's only a matter of time before our son-in-law gets it, if it hasn't already hit him. So I think we'll steer clear of their house for now. So, I'll try to tackle the mounds of clothes in the 2 bedrooms. It looks like a hoarder lives in there. LOL I've pulled everything out of the closets and have been sorting through things that I can no longer wear, making piles, deciding who to give things to, a pile of things to "ungrow" into. It's terrible. So I'm determined to finish that job and get the bedroom back in order.
We're supposed to get severe storms too tonight. Susan you will probably get them first, then they'll head our direction. It really isn't that warm outdoors, so it doesn't "feel" like tornado weather, but that's what they're saying. Usually it's warm outdoors, then the cold front hits the warm front, causing the turbulence. Didn't think you were going to get a weather report this morning, did you? LOL
Everyone have a nice weekend. I'll try not to get buried under mounds of clothes.

I have been up since my cat hacked and coughed and eventually produced a hairball right next to the bed.
Wish I had a job to go to. Thinking of starting a business making kitchen curtains. You supply the material and I make to the size ordered. What do you think? workable?

Hi Mary and my OFF family:
Sorry you're having problems sleeping again. I slept well right after surgery, then had problems again. I had to have my meds changed. I do have fibro, which in itself is a sleep disorder. Plus I have mild sleep apnea ... not enough to use a CPAP but enough to cause me to wake up at times ... I even dream that I'm choking. Maybe you should have a sleep study?
We had a busy day yesterday at Williamsburg. Gary and I started out early hearing the Marquis de Lafayette speak ... he was really great, very funny and engaging. Then we toured the Governor's Palace, the Wythe and Randolph houses and finally wound our way down to Merchants Square for lunch. We went back to the resort for a wine tasting provided by the local winery ... four different wines and cheese and fruit, plus we got an etched glass, all for $7. No wine to buy, so we are going to the winery this morning for more wine tasting before we go back to Colonial Williamsburg. Later, we went on a "Ghosts of Williamsburg" walk ... very entertaining and informative. All that walking wore me out, but I'm not too bad this morning, surprisingly. Either my legs are getting used to it, or the drugs are working.
The weather has been wonderful, other than that one rainy day. This will be our last day in Williamsburg. We are going to the winery first, then into the colonial town for the day, including a re-creation of witch trial. Then we have to pack before we leave tomorrow for Gatlinburg.
Margo, sounds like you're enjoying your job. Pat, glad your foot is doing well. Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi Everyone!
Hmmm, I luckily, have not had sleep problems post-WLS, which I did prior to it. . . so I'm grateful, because trust me when I say, if I get less than 5 continuous hours of sleep, I am not a pleasant human being. . .
For those of you who work and have the weekend to look forward to TGIF!!!
I've had a busy week, had my staples removed yesterday and the PA wants me to see a dermatologist as my posion ivy has not cleared up and she wants to be sure that is all that is going on. . .
anyway, this weekend I am going to take myself shopping at the Jackson outlets, I have some coupons and I need some new shoes and maybe one or two dresses for the summer, figure I can treat myself, not to mention that I seem to have settled at this size, as I've been here for more than a year now and I am going to trust that if I continue to monitor myself and do what is the right thing, I will maintain my weight here going forward. . .
Hmmm, I am wondering if those who have sleep problems drink decaffienated coffee or the real thing and how much of it you are drinking? Just a thought, as with our systems being different now, perhaps that affects you some, as I know years ago when I first went into recovery, I had sleep issues and my sponsor asked me how many cups of coffee I had at the meeting I was in, I said, well two or three, she said I might want to consider cutting back on my coffee intake and sure enough, it solved my problem and I have learned that I am someone who cannot have any caffiene past 4 in the afternoon. . . but then it might not apply to the many, perhaps it is just energy we need to work off, since we fuel our bodies so effeciently now. . .
Pat, I, too, often wonder what has become of this person or that, but I know that my life is busier than ever, so I guess for some they have moved on, I try to keep up with the people here, because I've grown to feel like this is my extended family. I've written to a few folks, some have responded and then others, not, I can only hope they are all well and enjoying the lives they reclaimed as a part of this journey.
Well folks, I wish you all a wonderful day, for those of you who are struggling with life challenges, I wish you peace and strength!
Hugs, Laureen
