This boat's late leaving the dock, but it's still puttin' along. What's on your plate?

Okay, I'm here. Had to take the car to the repair shop when Gary went to work, so alas, I had to get up early on my day off. AGHHHHH  Oh well, such is life.

Today I'm making the Baked Egg Roll recipe I posted a couple of weeks ago. I'll let you know how it turns out. Also, I'm making a Udon noodle Thai salad to go with it, we'll see about that, too.

Yesterday, on the way to work, I stopped at Whole Foods and went through  the salad bar. Boy, what a vast aray of goodness there!  Beautiful mixed greens, all sorts of fresh veggies and bean salads, shredded chicken, turkey, different flavors of tofu (no, not for me, but it was there), and a nice variety fat free dressings. So, I loaded up my little to go box and headed to the register. $8.79 later, I had a wonderful salad that I munched on all day. Might have to do this again, soon! I know I could do it cheaper if I made it myself, but to have all that stuff on hand and then go three or four days without eating it, I'd end up throwing it away, so this is really a better way to go.

I also had some cottage cheese w/ pineapple, a couple cups of protein coffee, a latte, some almonds and some string cheese. That's it. Oh, and some crustless calzone for breakfast.

Hi Susan and fellow crewmates:

Those salad bars are always a smart choice for one or two people.  You would have to buy quantities of all the ingredients at the grocery store to make the salads and most of it would go to waste.

Here is the plan so far:

B - 2 slices Havarti cheese with pickles and Finn Crisps.
S - Snapple diet tea
L - 1/2 a small Wendy's chili.  2 SF Dove Promise candies
S - 3:30 p.m. muscle milk light
S - 6:30 p.m. 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 cinnamon apple
D - 9 p.m.  Goddaughter's wedding rehearsal dinner at Lario's, a famous Cuban restaurant.  Will eat only a small black bean soup and a slice of Cuban bread.  Anything else will just make me throw up.

Giving up caffeine entirely has really decreased the carb cravings.  My Nut told me it would happen, but had to find out for myself.  Going cafferine-free has been "tres dificil" as my Haitian students would say.  Giving up the last little bit of caffeine in my morning tea precipitated several days of major headaches until I was totally detoxed.  Now I feel calm, full of energy and free of carb cravings.

I slept in today...another sleepless night and a new issue..restless legs!  What a nuisance this is becoming...any suggestions?  I'm thinking that maybe it means Im too low in some vitamin or moneral? My last bloodwork (Feb) indicated all all levels were PERFECT except a low-normal iron and a sluggish thyroid.

This is my menu for today..Im actually staying home:

B   hot chcolate proteon drink

S   banana w/ PB

L   multigrain crackers & cheese & grapes

S   none

D   multigrain coated fish, steamed broccoli

S   likely homemade soup

all supplements taken and working on 3 litres of water
