Hey Cindy.
Slept pretty well last night, but seem to be waking up and raring to go after just 6 hours lately.  I'd love to get 8 hours in, but I don't seem to need it right now.  Hope you can find someone to move her stuff at a reasonable rate.  With so many people out of work right now, it's shouldn't be too tough.
Today my neighbor and I are going into town shopping.  I'm hoping to hit a few thrift shops.  I need some capri's to take on my trip to Colorado.  None of my clothes from last summer fit anymore.  I did buy two pr of walking shorts and one pr of denim capri's, but I'd like to get some khaki and black capri's too.  I don't like them mid shin, I like them just below my knee, like peddle pushers.  Remember those?  Then will take the dogs on a walk.  Yesterday was a perfect day to do so, but I didn't get around to it.  Today is the day!

Hi Jan
I'm with you with the length of capris.  I was shopping at Sears on the weekend and bought a pair of capris, but I wish that they were shorter instead of the long length that they are  -  they look like "high water" pants.
I remember pedal pushers and clam diggers.  I think I'll cut all of my capris to be shorter like my pedal pushers used to be.

did you wear skorts when you were young?  They were very short skirts with pants (like underwear) attached to them.  The skirts were plaid and pleated, as I recall, and I wore them I was quite young, maybe 8 or 10.  I live in Ontario, but Michigan is close enough that we often had the same trends in clothes (a long time ago, when I was young!!!).

I'm not talented enough to cut off the pants and make them into pedal pushers.  I just need to be more diligent in hitting the thrift stores.  I did buy a couple of walking shorts at the thrift store that go to my knees and cover the saggy skin.  I really hate that high water look.
I thought the skorts were shorts with a panel in the front that made it look like a skirt.  I actually had a couple of them a few years ago.  When they got too tight I gave them to a friend.  I vaguely  remember the skirts with the panties attached, but I'm not sure I had any.  I'm sure glad that the short shorts aren't in anymore and that walking shorts and capri's are.
Nice picture of the pedal pushers!  ;)

Good morning Cindy and OFF,

Wow, so many of us have difficulty sleeping - lol - guess it's the age.  I find myself laying in bed wide awake, sometimes I even get up for a bit, then go back for a few hours -- honestly, sometimes it feels so good just laying there - lol - it is relaxing.

I'm hoping to finish up work early so I can finish painting the patio doors that my DH started.  We really want to get out deck put back together now that it's stained and fresh looking.

Well, back to work.  Have a wonderful day everyone -- well wishes and happiness to each of you!

Debbie

Morning Cindy, OFFr's,

Cindy, I sympathize with you on the loss of sleep, last night was actually the best night's sleep I've gotten in the past 2+ weeks, as a result of this posion ivy, I only woke up once last night and managed to fall right back to sleep, that was awesome, especially considering that last night when I left work, I honestly felt as though I was going to fall asleep behind the wheel of the car and I have at least a 45 minute drive from work to home, luckily, I just took my time and everything turned out ok.

Been busy at work these days, so less time to spend with you all, but I'm just about caught up now and so here I am visiting with you.

My weekend was spent with Tony coming down, we opted not to go to Balitmore (we were planning on going to the Inner Harbor), partly because the weather was too cool and mainly because I really was not feeling up to it, but it was nice to have someone put lotion on my battered back and we took Roxie to the vet on Saturday to check out her itching and the lick spot she has.

The vet we saw was new to the practice and she spent over half an hour giving us suggestions on what to do with Roxie, who by the way, weighed in at 90 lbs, which is a gain of 25 from when I got her in December (she was terribly underweight), this vet gave us lots of information and hopefully we can correct what is going on with her through changing her food source to a protein that she probably never had (a Venison and sweet potatoe dog food), with limited grain and by walking her 2x a day, as opposed to just taking her out back and tossing the ball around.  The sum total for the day, between the vet visit, the new dog food, treats and cod liver oil, was $160, of which Tony gave me half.  So now before I go to work and after work, I take her for a nice 20 minute walk and it's amazing, but in just a few days time, she already expects me to do it (lol). . .  the walk is good for both of us and I enjoy it and as some of you may remember it was one of the things I wanted in a new dog, as Dillinger was so other dog aggressive that I could not really enjoy walking him, Roxie is a completely different story, so it's much more enjoyable, however, I know when it rains, I won't be walking her. . .

Well, folks, guess that's enough from me, so I just want to wish you the best life has to offer and strength to get through the rough spots.

Hugs, Laureen

Hello, everyone!

I have the afternoon at home today...I have a huge pot of my homemade high protein, huge fibre beef-vegetable-barley soup cooking..I can eat soup all year-round.  It's easy to make, always there when I need something and healthy to boot.

This evening, I'm attending a charity event but Im already in the mindset to eat healthy..it's a PLATED dinner(as opposed to a buffet) so I will only be able to choose how MUCH to eat and maybe just a TASTE of dessert.

Derek is nagging me to release the internet so he can send out his bills...sheesh..like money is important??

hugs to those needing them, condolences for your losses, cheers for your support and love to all.

Good Afternoon Cindy and Friends, Cindy I know how difficult this time must be for you. Seems like you just got things taken care of for Ron's mother with her house and all and now you're packing up your mother's things. You're in my thougthts.

Debbie, your dear friends must have been wonderful people. I can tell by your words how much you loved them and how much they were loved. Can we ask for more than that?

I had today off from subbing in the schools. Sure enjoyed it. Went for a walk with my neighbor early, ran a bunch of errands, stopped at a couple of thrift stores, copied some pictures I had promised to a relative, then went to the gym.

Going to make chicken stir fry for dinner and then try to stay awake for "Idol." Hope you all had a good one. It was nice enougth to walk without a jacket this morning. Loving it!
