Good morning Cindy and OFF family!!!
I have a very busy day and week, it's volunteer week and I'm always extra busy running around and thanking my volunteers who are here in our hospital. I love my volunteers!
Today I also have to volunteer my time at Ministry with Community from 1-2:30 feeding the homeless. They are so thankful and give hugs and say God Bless you! Makes me very humble indeed.
I'm meeting a new friend who needs to have some encouragement in exercise after work. She doesn't get out til 5pm so I'm staying over and will wait for her. I have just "met her" through email, my name was given to her by Jen the gal who does our mental testing to have bariatric surgery. I consider Jen one of my favorite people in the world. She supports bariatric surgery 100%. So today I will have another friend to add to my life. I'm sure we will connect.
After our walk then I have to go to the funeral home. Bill died Sunday morning. His wife Joan died Dec. 26th, I knew Bill would miss Joan and not last long, he was 83 years young and he was a father figure to me just as his wife was a mom figure. They made a difference in my life. Very special people indeed. The funeral is tomorrow so I will only work a half day.
Hugs and prayers for those in need. Connie, I keep your family and you in my prayers especially.
The sun is shining and I will enjoy my walk! Hugs- Debbie

Morning Cindy, Debbie and Off family:
Debbie, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, Bill. So frequently that happens when a couple have been together for so many years...they just pine away for the lost spouse.
Speaking of volunteering, I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I received a lovely bouquet of flowers from our local hospital for volunteering to lead the bariatric support group.....how nice!
Have PT this morning and my annual physical this afternoon....hoping to wash windows outside if it warms up, and then go to the pool for water walking....got to get more exercise now that the foot it doing better. I've really been vigilant the past four days with my eating and have dropped almost 5 lbs -- hurrah, the tool still works. Just need to keep it going now -- my Germany trip is in Sept. and I am hoping to lose 20 lbs by then.
Way too cold here yet to do any planting in my gardens -- they are weeded and have Preen put down, so come on warm weather.
Have a great day,
Pat R.

Done! Your Ticker:
Thanks for the prayers my friends.
Yes, Bill missed his wife of 55 plus years and they were a hoot to hang with. Joan and I used to go line dancing all the time, then when I started teaching she always came to my classes.
I finally got her teaching line dance classes in Texas and when I went down there we would go dancing almost every single night. Bill didn't dance but would come and watch sometimes but mostly we had all the women from the park and we would car pool it. I was the "baby" of the group but knew that I wanted to be active just like these women who supported each other in so many ways.
Bill went quick. The family is in shock. Bill was tending his garden on Monday. Sunday he was gone. I was able to say good-bye to Bill so I am at peace. He was surrounded by all his family and grandchildren. I came in Saturday to check on him and his granddaughters Paige and Katie were on both sides of their grandpa holding his hands. It was a beautiful sight to behold.
I love it when families put the elders in a place of respect and love. Both Joan and Bill were special people.
My heart is full of happiness that they are together. I will miss my outings with Bill, we would go to the Veteran's Club and I would sit and listen to all the war stories.
Some of the best times of my life have been visiting Joan and Bill in Texas, they enjoyed being "Winter Texans".

Hi Debbie,
I am sorry to hear about Bill's passing and remember when your dear friend Joan passed that you worried about just this happening. . . funny thing about people dying, no matter the age of them, or how long they were in our lives, we still feel the loss. I hope your faith and the knowledge that these two fine people are together now for all eternity brings you a small measure of comfort through your losses and you can be happy for all that they brought into your life!
Hugs, Laureen

Thanks Laureen,
2 very special people in my life gone to a much better place.
They will be in the "welcoming committee" when I pass too.
A great big party will be waiting for me!! That brings me comfort along with all my doggie fur babies too.
Sigh...I will miss Bill but so happy he did not suffer that long. He sure did love Joan.
Now I'm dealing with MIL going down hill fast. The family is getting her in assisted living. She lost her hubby in June and she is letting herself go down hill and has decided she has had enough.
Death to me has always come in 3's...I don't know why, it just does.
Yes, my faith will get me through, my Hope gives me courage and you all are the most wonderful people on earth. We give each other support and love.
This is the best forum around for sure. I connect with all of you.
Hugs- Debbie
