Thanks to Margo and Annette regarding my before and "in progress" pictures.....and of course anyone else to takes a peek.

I had to change my hair appointment for after work because I had forgotten that we have a Board of Health meeting at 4:00.  I'm going to have to wait until Monday now.  It's really needing a trim.  I haven't started losing hair yet.  I really dread when (and if ) that happens.

It's payday, so I guess that's a good reason to go to work.  It reminds me that there is a reason I go every day.

Our office had a pot luck luncheon yesterday for National Administrative Assistant day.  I was able to eat 1 ham ball, about 1/8 cup of a veggie casserole, 2 bites of a jello salad and a couple of bites of corn casserole.  All was yummy.  There were many other foods that I would like to have tried, but there just wasn't room.  This is a good thing!

We're going to have a pot luck breakfast for National Nurse's Day in a couple of weeks.  I'm going to make a french toast casserole.  I probably won't eat any of it, but that's ok. I'll eat the egg/ham/cheese casserole that someone else is bringing.

Well enough talk about food. LOL

Everyone have a wonderful day.

Oh  I almost forgot.  Our son got hurt the other day.  He was working under his truck and it started rolling.  It rolled up his right arm to his shoulder.  He was able to lift his shoulder enough to stop it.  He called out to his 5 year old son (no one else was home) to get some wood blocks and put them under the front tires.  Jarod did this.  Then Jason was able to work his way out from under the truck.  He said he knows if it had kept rolling it would have killed him, as the front tire would have gotten him too as that's where most of the truck weight is..  And get this - they didn't tell us about it!   We heard it at the local coffee shop!!!!!!  Needless to say, I was not very happy with my son.  His explanation is that he was fine so there was no point in telling us.  I asked why everyone else was told.  He didn't have an answer.  He hasn't yet been to the doctor either.  He has tire marks up his arm and it took the hide off the underside of his arm where he had to force-pull it out from under the tire.  Our DIL was going to make him go to the doctor today if he is still "favoring" it.    He's his father's "child" that's for sure!

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Wanda, Haven't had a chance to check out your pics but will. I just had a thought.  Do you take B12 supplements? I take 2 sublingually a day. I swear that they really help my energy and frame of mind.

I do take sublingually once a week.  My B-12 levels were ok last week.  Would it hurt me to take more?  The bottle just says weekly too.

I couldn't get your profile to come up.....?
Start taking Biotin now -- start with 2 pills a day, it helps with the hair loss and also helps your nails.   I still take one a day.   It's available at Wal Mart in the vitamin section.

Thanks Pat.  I've read about it but haven't bought any yet.  Guess I better add that to my list for this weekend.

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

I'm feeling much better this morning than I was yesterday morning. Even though I did a lot of walking yesterday, it was all on flat paths and very little steps. Easier on the knees.

It's cloudy this morning and there's a chance of rain. We're going back to Colonial Williamsburg today; we were going to eat at one of the restaurants today but looked at the menus and they're kind of expensive, so we're going to skip that. We did our very expensive restaurant yesterday.

Well, Gary reports it's already raining out. Hope it's not heavy. Have a good day.

One of these days I hope to visit  the historical areas you are enjoying right now. Sounds like you're having a great time. Hope the rain lets up like in Camelot. Just enough rain  to make things grow and then a beautiful rainbow and sunshine for the rest of your day.

Didn't go to Colonial Williamsburg and lucky, too; we went to Yorktown Victory Center, which was mostly indoors. It rained and some of it was heavy ... about the time we were eating lunch/dinner (2-3 p.m.) and then we decided to head back home.

Good Morning Margo and Friends,

Just 5:30 am here still dark out. Wind howled last night and rained. The sound of the rain hitting the windows and the wind kept  me awake much of the night. It was nasty. I didn't even hear the coyotes we usually hear up on the hill. They must have taken cover. This time of year they are especially loud; I think the males are "wooing!"

Had such a nice day yesterday. I planned  the day off and had lots of odds and ends to take care of. First went for a 2 mile walk with my neighbor and Maggie. Maggie, our tiny Yorkie, walks awhile then rides awhile (in my arms.) Next I completed my errand list and managed to stop at a couple of thrift stores. Scored a Rowena iron for $4.00 to keep in my sewing area. Also a new salad spinner. I'd love one of the new "auto" ones but haven't seen them around here. I guess I can  turn a few cranks to get my lettuce dry faster. Completed the day with a 4 mile aerobic session at the gym. Then home to cook chicken stir fry for Mike and our son who has been home on spring break from his teaching job for a few days.

I'm sure I'll be working today so already put together my lunch and laid out my clothes.

Friends, I've been back at the gym since Christmas except for "vacations" when I'm not so good about keeping up the exercise. My "tool" still works when I put in a bit of effort on my part. I've finally figured out (for good I hope) that if I want to eat the way I have been and not gain weight then I HAVE TO exercise about an hour a day a minimum or  4 days per week if not more. I've gradually been dropping weight. Now down about 7 lbs since January. Certainly not like it dropped off 5 years ago, but enough to know that my pouch is just fine when I use it like I'm supposed to.

Well, to take my pills, drink my shake and get to  the shower. Can't wait for the phone call to get ready on possible work days as sometimes I just have 20 minutes to get where I'm supposed to be. Hope you all have a good day.

Margo, I'm sure the gardening is good for Michael's mental and physical health. Now if he gets buried up to his neck perhaps not, but sunshine, dirt and watching things grow is good for me. And strawberries right out of your own garden, as the ad says: "priceless!"
