Busy touring Williamsburg, Jamestown

Hi my OFF family:

I have been so busy the past two days I haven't gotten online much. Yesterday, we spent the whole day walking around (and up and down) Williamsburg (and only saw a bit of the town); today, we went to Historic Jamestowne (yes, that's how they spell it). Yesterday, I was so sore and so tired, I couldn't move and therefore didn't sleep very well. I figure we probably walked at least a mile plus all the up and down the stairs in the buildings (and no elevators, so I had to climb stairs). But it was so interesting, and I didn't want to miss anything, so I just went very slowly.

Today, I got up later than usual (Gary was up at 6:30 and in the fitness room ... he's so dedicated) and we didn't get going til 10:30 a.m. Jamestown is much different than it was in 2001; they have opened up more of the excavations, upgraded the visitors center, added an archaerium (an archaelogy museum) and did a re-creation of the fort, among other things. So it took us most of the day.

Then we had dinner at this marvelous seafood restaurant (but very expensive). Amazing how three crab-stuffed shrimp can fill you up! Oh, but they were yummy! My brother ordered dessert, and I had a taste of his warm Virginia peanut pie (it was to die for!) but wouldn't have had a place for it in my pouch ... it would have come back up.

We are having marvelous weather and a great time. I am sore and in pain at the end of the day, but the memories are wonderful. We are only eating one big meal a day (which is easier for Gary to do, but quite frankly, I'm not all that hungry as we're walking around as long as I have my water ... too busy looking to think about it).

I've read what everyone is doing and you're all on my mind. Love ya all ... Margo, hope your new job is going well.

More tomorrow! We're heading back to Williamsburg and will dine on traditional colonial fare tomorrow.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
