Exercise - Let's get moving......Tuesday

Good Day!

The sun is shinning and I'm heading out to do some light yard work....little bit at a time before the weeds get out of control.

Later today, much later, while watching American Idol I am going to do my weight lifting during commercials (Thanks to Debbie for the idea).  This will help me get back to my regular weight lifting without overdoing too much too soon after arm surgery. 

Been doing Brain Exercises too........suduko and crossword puzzles are great brain exercises. 

How about you.....what are you doing today?

I did 30 mins of weight training this morning, lat pull downs, pec presess, bicep curls, forearm curls and leg presses.... then to get the ol' ticker pumping I did 10 mins on the elliptical.... 

LOL at the Brain exercises!  I do the jumble, suduko, crossword and jigsaw on my little local paper's website each morning too.... Fortunately for me, my job is an exercise in brain dexterity, unfortunately sometimes that dexterity has to happen at midnight or 2 AM or whenever they call..... LOL

Hi Ruth,
I will be walking today, meeting Terri for the first time. She is going to have RNY soon but wants to get on the exercise band wagon. I'll start her out slow and see how she wants to proceed. She can't afford a gym right now...but heck, walking is free.
I have extra free weights. I'll see how she feels about weights...

You are doing great.
It's good working with weights during commercials isn't it??? Especially when there are "food porn" commercials on. LOL!!

I worked out extra long yesterday doing weights...they are sore...

Sounds like you're going to have a great day -- moving -- I just did 40 vigorous minutes on the treadmill -- great workout - I love my treadmill - Hey, is that me saying that?  LOL - I used to HATE exercise - lol

I did it....I worked out for an hour today on bike and weights.  Keep up the good work and the encouragement.....I am committed.....It will take a while to be toned ...but at least I have begun!!!!!

Way to go Marti. How often I talk to myself as I'm on the way to the gym. "The hardest part is getting in the door. . . just walk through the door. . . just do it!" Sound familiar? I started again in earnest in January. I just get into a good routine and then off I go either on a trip or over to my daughter's. I have  the best intentions over there but my routine falls by the wayside. Unfortunately toting, lifting, holding 2 two years olds does nothing but make my back ache! It rains so much over there. I guess if you live the you just have to suck it up and go out no matter what or join a gym. I'm just now getting to the point where if I don't go I feel a buit guilty. That's a good guilt to have. I'm also thinking twice about eating things I shouldn't because I don't want all of that good calorie burning to go to waste (waist?)

I'm giving myself an extra "star" today! I walked two miles with my neighbor and my dog this morning. Maggie, 5 lb Yorkie, walks and then rides in my arms about every 1/2 mile. pretty good for those tiny legs. Then  this afternoon I ran a bunch of errands and stopped at the gym at 2pm and did my 4 miles! Also bought new shoes and socks  today. Came home and threw my old socks away. They were hurting the bottoms of my feet they were so thin. I'll probably be working the rest of the week but it sure was nice to have today off. when I have every day off I don't tend to appreciate it. Sure do when they just come once a week.
