OT: Fear of Flying

Just gotta say a big THANK YOU to everyone for their suggestions.

It's odd but somehow just "talking" about it (ok, I'm typing/writing not speaking), I feel there might be hope.  I suppose opening up and putting it out the universe is a good first step.

I'm not sure if I'll look into hypnosis......I have such deep seated feelings that hypnosis it just "hooey (spl?)" so I'm not sure it will work for me but I'll see if there is anyone local doing it.
I'll also call Southwest to see if they offer any classes......
I've been watching a few videos on line which show airplanes in the air, taking off, landing, etc... kind of cool....not sure if it will really help me but can't hurt.  www.flightlevel350.com/aviation_video.php

My best friends husband is a pilot.....he always told me if it wasn't safe he would not let his family fly but still it didn't help me....

I know my bottom line fear is crashing and dieing......I know it can happen driving to my corner grocery store BUT I always come back to this thought............if the car or train crashes I have a better chance surviving than if a plane falls out of the sky.  This is what I have to work on.

I thank you all for your input and encouragement!!  Support of the Sisterhood is a wonderful think.  Something I'm only just learning at my ripe ole' age.
