60 pounds gone for good and pics
Hi everyone
I don't post much, but I do read the posts every day. I've been doing well since WLS, and I wanted to let you all know know that I am very grateful for all of the support that you have given me.
I am four and a half months out of surgery (RNY), and I have lost 60 lbs. The weight loss has not been swift, but I was considered a "light weight" (LOL) and I am an old broad - both of these conditions have led to a slower weight loss than the average.
However, I am happy with the loss so far. I still have about 30 lbs. to go to be at a weight that I believe I will feel comfortable. My surgeon thinks that my goal should be 140, but I think that weight will be too low; we'll see.
I'm very happy that I had the surgery. I've had no problems (knock on wood) and I am now taking a size 12 in jeans instead of an 18. My tops are still big because of the humongous breasts I have. I have had breast cancer, and after radiation, I was told that I could not have breast reduction surgery because radiated tissue will not heal well. So one breast is humongous and one is less humongous, but they're still both very big. Even if I can have the larger breast reduced to the size of the smaller (post cancer) breast, I will be happy, but that's in the future when I have lost all of the weight that I'm going to.
In the meantime, I'm grateful to be alive and cancer-free and I'm grateful to see the scale go down. It's a wonderful life!

Wow, you look great!
Keep up the good work!
I know the weight loss is slower when you are a little older. I has been for me too. I tried walking more and it seemed to break my stall.
Good luck!~

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Margo
Thanks. I do feel much more comfortable with the way that I look.
My students from the fall term have noticed the big weight loss and are forever commenting on how good I look - they are very sweet 'mature' students who probably know how difficult it is to take off the weight as one gets older. They don't yet know that I've had surgery. My current students haven't noticed or haven't felt comfortable enough to say anything.
I used to own that dock and the property attached to it that are in my avatar. It's on Rondeau Bay, which is off Lake Erie in Erieau ON. It is a beautiful spot, but the drive to and from work and the inconvenience of it all took a toll and I sold it two years ago; I still miss it.
