Darnn Gall Bladder

Reared its ugly head again today.  I was at work.  Ate a Babybel cheese.  About an hour later, the pain started.  It took me about 20 minutes to realize what was happening.  I called the doctor's office.  They said come right over.  (they are 1/2 block from my office).  She did blood work, found that my GB was very tender, gave me a shot for pain and another shot for nausea and told me to go home.  I called my boss and she met me at my car with my purse and keys.  I had just left them at the office as I saw no need to carry them with.

Anyway, since I had already eaten and drank fluids, x-ray said they wouldn't do the ultrasound today.  So I'll have it done in the morning.  My PCP was pretty annoyed with x-ray.

I'm hoping and praying that they will find lots of stones and sludge so there's no doubt that it needs to come out.  This is my 3rd attack since surgery.  Two years ago I had an ultrasound. No stones or sludge, so they did a Hydascan.  It showed that my GB "wasn't working well". Since there were no stones or sludge and I wasn't having pain, they decided it wasn't medically necessary to remove it.  Since I already know it doesn't work right,  there really isn't much need for me to take Actigall to prevent stones.  I just want the damn thing out.  I can't keep having these attacks.  They aren't very convenient and they hurt like hell!

Sorry for my language.  There are just times, stronger words seem to help when venting. LOL

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Wanda...last summer I was "walkin" in your shoes.  Just keep your chin up and keep bugging your dr.  My surgeon found sludge..still didn't do anything.  Hydascan said my gall bladder was "pink and perfect" ...beh.

Finally after months of attacks and pain he took it out in Oct....to find that it was not pink and not perfect.

Keep pushing them to get rid of it !!!!!!!  Hope you are feeling better soon...hang in there...prayers on their way.

Thanks Marcy - I'll do that.  This is actually the best time of year as far as work goes to be off, so I'll insist they do it now.

Sounds weird but I hope they find stones so you have it removed.  I know gallbladder flare ups are no fun!

Hope you feel better soon!

Oh me too Moosie!  For work purposes, this would be the best time of year to have it done.  If they wait, it may HAVE to come out at a very inconvenient time.  I like to have my ducks in a row, so planning and knowing ahead of time will be better for my mental health also. LOL

Get that darn thing out!!   You will be a totally different person.  Just be sure that if you do there are no stones/sludge in the bile ducts or it can cause more problems, which don't want. .  I had mine out in 96.  No more incredibly painful attacks, yeah!

I'll be talking to the doctor's office tomorrow.  I'm going to insist that it come out.  I see my WLS surgeon on Monday for my 2 month post op and am going to ask him how he feels about me having it out so soon since I still don't have my strength back.

I really think that my strength would be better if I hadn't had the dehydration issue and then 3 gall bladder attacks that wiped me out and made me go on liquids again each of those days.  A person can't gain strength with all these set backs.  I AM stronger, but I want to get back to 100%.

Thanks Bonnie.  Love ya girl!
