Hi Julia and my OFF family:

Julia, I know how hard it is for you mourning your dog. I mourned Cinnamon's passing for months. It can be so hard to let go. Cinnamon died in my lap, his eyes open looking at me ... he was even purring as he left the world. I would see his shadow along the wall for weeks after, as if he were still in the condo.

I vegged yesterday ... didn't even get out of my jammies. I have been really lazy. Today, Mom and I are going to Kohl's and some other stores, then maybe out to lunch.

My brother Gary is coming today and then tomorrow we leave for our road trip. Can't wait to hit the road! We leave early in the morning. First stop is Hershey, Pa.

Well, see ya maybe tomorrow night. Hope everyone is well and has a good day.

Julia, OFFr's,

I've been very busy at home and work these days, so little time to myself for coming on here, but this morning I've had a lull and here I am. . .

The itching is slowly subsiding, but Roxie has been itching the last two nights and I can't seem to find a source, so I am going to have to take her to the vet and see what is up.  supposedly dogs don't get poison ivy, though they can pass it on (ugh). . .  I don't see any fleas or ticks, besides I use medicine for that, so I'm wondering if it is the stuff I put on the lawn to kill the weeds. . .  oh well. . .

Julia, when the vet's office called, I could not even take the call and only returned the call when I was able to go pick up his ashes, and then I cried all the way home.  They also gave me a paw print in clay that I lovingly baked after touching it, it even had a piece of Dil's hair on it.  I could not open the box, instead, my roommate asked if she could.  I must say they did a beautiful job, it was in cherry wood box, with an engraved plaque on top and inside the box, the remains were wrapped in a linen cloth.  It made me feel a little better, knowing the care that went into it.  Dillinger always greeted everyone at my front door, so I put the box, along with his paw print, and a picture of him when he was 15 months old on the shelf nearest to my front door.  I still have a hard time going in the front door and most of the time I go in the driveway now. . .  while I have dear Roxie and I can say I love her so much and she has eased the heartache, I still miss my boy. . .  hugs sweetie, I know the pain. . .

Well, after waking up this morning, with all this energy from the predisone, I took some overripe bananas and made a loaf of banana walnut bread (weight loss friendly), whipped together a seafood salad to bring to work for lunch, cleaned my kitchen and then got ready for work. . .  where I am now and better get back to the things that need doing. . .

For those of you facing challenges, please know I think of each of you in my prayers and good wishes and hope that you have the strength to get through whatever you are facing. . .

Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

You put your feelings into writing so well Laureen. I know that you understand. The depth of love for our pets is quite astounding. I got the paw print too...

Thank you again everyone. I am home & do feel a little better. Have lots to do today, to get ready to see my son.
Even though I don't post a lot, I think about you & pray daily for all of you. Please make the best of today & enjoy every one after!!
