Yesterday didn't start out too promising, but ended pretty well. Gary insisted on going to Cracker Barrel but he doesn't really ask for much, so I was happy when he suggested we split a bkfst platter. Whew!

Then we got busy and I didn't get in a snack before lunch, went to the symphony, so no snack then. Dinner was at P.F Changs, so I made up for lost time there....lol!

latte

3/4 pancake, 1 slice bacon, 1 egg

crustless calzone on sandwich thin

1 veggie dumpling, 1 veggie lettuce wrap, small serving garlic chicken w/broccoli and brown rice.

Dessert was an Apple Pie Shooter, an adorable, perfectly size apple pie in a shot glass!!  Perfect!

More fiber in your diet, for sure. Also tmi, but I take 2 stool softeners, twice a day. Dr says it's ok, and I'm doing LOTS better for it.

Hi Susan ,

Thanks for replying.  What is the brand of softeners you take?  I didn't know we could take that much a day.  I really need something.

What fiber do you add daily?

Thanks for all the info.  It seems like I have a lot of questions even this long after surgery.

I just buy the Equate brand from Wally world. You might want to start with one, twice a day and see how it works for you, wouldn't want to cause a problem!

When I eat carbs, which is everyday (I don't avoid them at all), I make sure the bread is always high fiber, like Nature's Own Double Fiber bread. There are many in the stores, just read your labels. I like this one because it's also only 50 cals per slice.
Also, there is a whole grain tortilla that I buy that has a whopping 12 grams of fiber in it, and 8 grams of protein. It's called  "xtreme wellness high fiber, low carb tortilla wraps". I use them for my breakfast burritos and sandwich wraps. Not as yummy as a real Mexican-loaded- with- fat tortilla, mind you, but still pretty darned good for what you're getting.

HI Susan, thanks again for the info.

I tried taking colace two pills but just for one day. It didn't help.  I might have to get into the routine of taking them everday to avoid problems.

I don't eat any bread, haven's since before surgery.  I think I will add that to my daily meal.  One piece can't hurt.  I am sure.

I have been walking a lot to get things moving and get excercise.  It has made me feel good. However, I am playing with 3 pounds again. Up and then down.  Today I am up.  Ugh.

I am going to add more protein today and see how that does.  You would think after walking everyday I would atleast have dropped a pound.

I really enjoy this thread. Keep it going.

Peace

Nope, they need more than one day to work, as they are not laxitives. I put them in my pill box along with all my other supplements and meds and just take them all together.

Do you eat vegetables, like sweet potato, broccoli and such? How about fruit?  There are some people who think carbs are sent by Satan, but from a nutritional stand point, you need at LEAST 50 grams of carbs a day for cell development and good health.

Hi again friend,

I do eat some veggies. I have been wanting sweet potatoes.  Going to go to the store and buy some needed veggies.  I have been eating strawberries with splenda on them, and cantalope.  Maybe an apple would be better.

I try to space out all my vitamins through out the day.  I find it hard to get them all in.  I didn't think we could take most of them together.  I am going to try the colace daily and see how that works.  I have never had this problem since i upped my  calcium.

Going to try and get more fiber in and maybe that will help.

Thanks again!

Peace
