D: Atkins shake or if I can't stand it...a small salad with cheese and ham.

Came home after spin class yesterday and hubby had a small salad and steak for me. I ate it, but it's all good. So far I'm hanging in there detoxing my body once again.
I will get those 10 pounds off!!

I'm curious about this Detox you are doing.....is it basically protein shakes all day long or are you taking something else in addition to do the shakes? How many cals are you getting and how many days are you doing this??

I exercise too much to not eat one meal a day I think but if I can stand it I'll skip the meal at the end of the day and do another Atkins.
I get about 1,500 calories when I do this if I allow as my doc said to play with 500 calories.
I just have to detox from sugar and carbs and exercise.
So today at lunch I (I have been stressed, hubby needs to find a job, unemployment runs out in 2 weeks)...so I had a bowl of half vegetarian chili and half beef barley mixed together, now I'm drinking 32 oz of water. I'm not hungry right now but I did make myself have an Atkins bar at 2pm.
I don't want to pass out when I'm exercising.
When I spin I drink another 32 oz of water, then I also drink 24 oz of water when I get home. Water is good for our skin.
Going back to all shakes for me is pretty extreme. So for right now I try to aim for shakes for breakfast and lunch with dinner eating steak or some kind of meat.
Right now I've had about 590 calories...when I spin I USE up 500 calories. So I will probably eat when I get home for sure. I don't want to throw my body into starvation mode. I never count calories just protein, now that I'm trying to get 10 pounds off, I'll be counting calories for a change.
My internist said it would be okay for me to do this for 2 weeks. Maybe my body needs to be shocked! LOL
The thing is I feel great, not hungry and I have energy.
I had lots of energy when I was just on liquids before my surgery. Strange huh????
I was going to have another shake before spin class but I am not wanting it....so I won't.
I will eat an apple right after class though...and I carry glucose tabs with me...just in case.

I was asking because I was thinking of doing 2, maybe 3 days of protein shakes with 1 meal mainly made up of veggies and snacks of only fruit.
I feel like I need clean out my system......I know it's mostly because post-op things don't "move" like they normally do and I just feel like I keep adding more and more but never totally emptying (sorry, I know, TMI!).
Anyhow, I may give it a try over the weekend.....

For sweetness I enjoy: Atkins New Caramel Chocolate Nut Roll, 8gms of protenin, 2 gms of sugar 170 calories and only 3 Net. carbs.
It tast just like a Payday with chocolate covered over it. YUMMY!!
See you can have something like this if you crave sweets. And I do.
Real sugar sets me off to craving more sugar. Eating this does not.
