Hi Everyone,

Oh boy, up too early this morning and I am already tired.  Have tons of things to do today and I can't wait for the day to end already!

Have to take my sister to court this morning.  Now, her daughter got arrested for consumption and drug parephanalia.  I don't know how my sister keeps her sanity.  I am reqady to go crazy myself.

She has her daughters car, which has no brakes.  My brother offered to hve them fixed.  I am glad , this will give her some independence.  Not having to rely on me for everything.  Her daughther lost her license for 6 months anyway.

Then, off to the foot doctor.
Going to art class at 6.  And, I can't wait to come home and go to bed..lol

Easter was nice.  My mother in-law wanted Turkey instead of ham.. Sooooo... we had a thanksgiving, Easter.  She had Christmas cookies frozen and too them out.  I didn't have them but the kids said they were really good.  I guess we almost got all the holidays covered in one day.  How easy would that be?

Nothing else going on today.  Just busy.  I have been walking every morning but it is raining here this morning.  Hopefully it will dry up later.

Have a great day, I bet you all have ham left overs.  We don't, I am jealous.

Peace
Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

Good mornin', ya'll.

We had a wonderful Easter brunch with our DIL and 1 grandson (the other one was working).  We really missed our son.  He will be deployed a few more months.  After brunch I sat on the porch and read for quite awhile.  Spring and Fall are the only months I can sit outside comfortably.  Too humid in summer.

Today my DH has a doctor appointment.  We are gonna see how our new Tom Tom works.  We know the way, naturally, but I want to get used to some disembodied voice giving my directions.

I am done with chemo, but I think my hair is still thinning.  In the night my DH rolled over and said 'I have hair in my face and it isn't mine!'  I can feel that it is thinner in front and on the right side (where it mostly fell out before).  I wonder how long this will go on?  I'll ask at the doctor on Wed when I go for my lab work.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good Monday morning OFF family!

Easter was good yesterday, went to church with hubby, let the ham bake while we were gone, still needed more time when we got home so went for a 3.5 mile walk and hubby joined me along with our 3 dogs. A big black lab joined us half way through our walk so I just decided to let "Hoss" join the parade and planned on riding my bike back over to his house with the lab following me. His dad drove over just as we were getting to our house...people in the country are friendly for sure! I told him I was going to bike back with his dog and he laughed and said we seen you coming up the road and knew Hoss would join in the walk. Really nice man.

So then we settled down and ate our Easter dinner then went to hubby's mom who is failing. Her sister is here from Minnesota and the other sister is coming from Iowa today, so mom is really happy to see her sisters one more time before she dies...that was what she wanted. This was the first time I met Aunt Henrietta and she is a hoot! She has a great big dairy farm and she loves to travel.

You all have a wonderful day. Do something special for yourself!

Good morning everyone.  We had a nice Easter at my daughter's.  I tried to eat a bite of ham and spit it out.  I could tell it was too dense.  In a few months, I'll be able to eat "real" meat and not deli meats.  I did eat some of the strawberry pretzel salad and it tasted yummy.  Two bites of mashed potatoes and a couple of bites of broccoli.  I just so enjoyed being there when the Easter bunny had been there.  The girls (3 and 17 months) get SO excited about these things.  I just soak it all in.

I get blood work this morning.  My surgeon wants it done 2 weeks before I see him for my 2 month check up.  I hope things look good.  I won't be surprised if my potassium level is a little low.  I've had some leg/toe cramping and that's usually a sign.  Have to eat some more bananas.

Everyone have a great day.

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Wanda, I  read somewhere that if your potassium is low you would have to eat about 8 bananas a day to raise it that way. My husband had a lot of leg cramping and is on diuretics for BP. He takes an over the counter potassium supplement, one pill a day that seems to help a lot. I believe it's like 99mgs but not sure.  Also cal/mag supplements seems to help him. when I get leg cramps it's usually because I'm not getting in enough water.

Thanks Karen.  I don't think I want to eat that many bananas every day!  I do track my water intake and was a little low on drinking (about 50 oz instead of 64) over the weekend each day, but prior to the weekend, I was getting plenty of water.  I didn't hear back from the doctor's office today about my blood levels.  I'll call in the morning to see what they say.

hugs and prayers.......

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Mary and my OFF family:

It's foggy and 50 degrees this morning ... kinda eerie looking out there on the golf course. I have an appointment this morning with the pain doctor for shots in my back, which is good, because I have been having pain down my left side and in my left knee, which usually happens when I'm due for my shots. My friend Gayle is driving me (I can't get sedation without a driver); Gayle lives across the road from me in another development and will take care of my cats while I'm on vacation. She also worked at the Press but took a buyout. So she's also unemployed. She used to do the weddings and engaments pages.

It's opening day for baseball, and I'm excited. Unless it's raining in Chicago, I'll have a White Sox game to watch this afternoon, and other baseball games to watch the rest of the day, plus the NCAA basketball championship later tonight ... one of the few times I've been able to watch all this stuff. Go Butler!

Otherwise, my Easter was quiet. Did my Grand Rapids income taxes online yesterday ... it zeroed out like always (first time I could do it online). My friend Roxane called me and we talked for a while; she had finished dinner and was getting an Easter egg hunt ready for her kids and their friends. I told her about the job in Amarillo, Texas ... her best comment was I'd be better able to tolerate the heat now because I'm always cold ... I guess that's a benefit from the weight loss! So thanks for that, Rox! I made my au gratin potatoes and Tyson precooked ham ... it was yummy ... had a small piece of my birthday cake (although birthday's still a week away, I'm celebrating all week).

Well, happy opening day and have a good one. Go White Sox, go Butler!

Good morning Mary and OFF,

We had a lovely Easter.  We went to our daughter's for dinner.  She baked chicken breast, baked potato and peas.  YUM!  We had a lovely visit.

This morning has been busy so far.  Got an early start with work, and I've been taking little breaks and doing laundry in between.  So much to do today, so I'd better get back.

Enjoy this glorious Monday!

Debbie
