Good Monday Morning, How was your Easter?

Good Morning,

We're heading for home in a few hours. Will wait for a while so that we hit White Pass (4,500 ft) at mid day when the roads should be best. They've had over a foot of new snow since we came over from east to west on Wednesday. We've had a good visit but we're both ready to head home. Love these babies and this household but it's so busy ALL the time. We need some quiet time!

We'll be back over in one month.Mike goes on the Inside Passage Cruise with a friend who just retired. I'll spend the week here helping out. Erin's baby Briley is now 2 lbs and 14 inches long. So far no complications from her car wreck. She says her back hurts but I think it's just all that "baby" she's carrying. And probably the lifting of 25 lbs twins on and off all day. They are walking up the stairs real well as long as someone follows them. Coming down they hold the rail but get in a hurry. Scarey to watch them. The "rule" is that they don't do stairs without mom and dad with them. Sometimes they "forget". Sure would be a nasty fall down.

It's still dark here. It's always green here in western Washington. The secret? It rains almost daily! Even when it isn't raining  it is wet! We get a lot more wind  in the SE corner of the state where we live but we also get a lot more sunshine! My lilacs should just about be blooming when we get home. I'm eager to plant some more flowers.

I'll get in gear. Thinking of you all and wishing you a wonderful day.

Hi Mary Margaret and all my OFF friends,
Hubby and I had a great Easter.  It started out with a phone call from our Son.  We'll be seeing them next week.  We went to my Mom's, I brought scalloped potatoes au gratin - no salt.  My Sis made a Pork Roast and Brother brought Broccoli.  Mom was recently in the hospital for congestive heart failure so we were going sans salt this holiday (no ham). I made a raspberry jello pie.  Lite cream cheese, sugar free jello, sugar and fat free cheesecake instant pudding and Free Cool Whip in a reduced fat graham cracker crust with whole raspberries on the top. mmmm.  Mom has to watch her sugar too - type 2 diabetes. Mom lives in an in-law set-up with another of my sisters so we joined her family for desserts and games.  All my sister's kids and their girlfriends/husband are in their early twenties.  We teamed up and played Bocce Ball.  My nephew and I won!  It was a glorious day. 70* and sunny.  I even got some sunburn on the top of my head.
At 5:00 we went to my Hubby's nephew's who has 9 month old twins and a 17 year old son.  My SIL was there too so we had a nice visit and caught up.  Then we went home and watched the UCONN women's basketball.  It was a great day.
I was late to work today.  Not because I didn't get up in time but because I piddled around getting ready.  Tiger Cub meeting tonight - the theme will be dinosaurs, but I have to spend lunch hour preparing some things.
Have a great day.
Bev

Good morning Mary & all. We had a nice quiet Easter. I got a few things done had dinner & went to bed early. I am excited about opening day too. Today I will mail out the Easter box to the grands in Texas. I am always late, but the kids will like it. Need to go the secratary of state to get plates for our sons car. He should be in the states in less than 2 weeks. Some how it keeps getting delayed. I can't wait, we may only have 24 hours notice when he is on his way.

Today shopping too. I have 3 or 4 grands later this week for a few days. I always enjoy that too. The weather has been great so I have been able to work outside some. How can life get any better??? Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning Mary and everyone....

I had a busy weekend and couldn't even check in with all you wonderful friends. I am finally caught up now!!

I had Easter on Saturday with Dwayne and his family. It was nice but I missed my family.

Easter I drove down to the Twin Cities and spent the day with my granddaughter Kyleigh. She was going to be alone for the day. Grandma wouldn't allow that so away I went. It is a long story why she was alone....I can't explain it now. I quickly whipped up an Easter Basket for her.....she loved it!! We spent hours wondering around the Mall of America and had a blast!! We ate lunch at the "Rain Forrest". The meals were awesome. Kyleigh's birthday is Thursday, she will be 18!!!  We then went Birthday shopping.....we laughed and laughed.
It ended up being a great day!!

It sounds like everyone had a nice Easter...that is wonderful.

Enjoy this day....prayers to all in need....a few special ones for some.

Love and hugs.....connie d

Hi All,
My Easter was not great, but I am getting through it all. I have pictures of Dar on the fireplace and a candle burning. The vet gave me a little medicine bottle with her hair inside and I put my finger in there once in a while to touch her. I know it sounds weird, but it comforts me. I see her everywhere, she was so integral in our lives here.
Tomorrow I am going scrapbooking- so today my daughter and I are getting some recent pictures of Darla printed. I have lots of pictures already- 15 years worth- to pick from.  After that I'm heading to a nursery to pick out a climbing rose for the backyard. I'm thinking pink, but I will see. I will bury her ashes near the rose.
I am on vacation... it's not as fun as I wanted, but I'm doing alright. If I seem obsessed with the dog right now- it is true... but I'm doing better with it than I expected. I have been dreading this event for so long that I had it magnified. I'll miss her forever, but life is still good.

Oh, Julia, I am so sorry you are missing your Darla.
I don't think it's weird, I think it is nice...
I'm glad you get to go scrapbooking, I haven't gotten to go for a long time and my stuff is just sitting up in my scrapbook room. I used to scrap almost everyday, just a little, but now I just can't seem to fit it in with my couch potato ways.
Take care, I am sending hugs and good thoughts your way.

Oh how I remember those days of mourning our Charlotte.  I kept expecting her to greet me at the door and when it stormed, I found myself wishing she was hiding under the bed, shaking in fear.  When the doorbell rang, I missed her barking.  I missed her getting into the trash.  She used to get bread or old biscuits out of the trash and hide them.  I caught her once, trying to "bury" one in our bedspread.  God how I miss her.  You'll miss Darla for a long time too, but I'm sure you have lots of memories to make you smile.  She, like Charlotte are no longer in pain and are romping around in dog heaven having a grand old time.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Hi there everyone,

I am posting from my "sick bed." I started getting a sore throat last Thursday and by Saturday I was feeling pretty crappy. Didn't get to go to Easter services and family dinner was canceled as my mom has been in the hospital since Sunday before Easter and I was sick so the rest just decided to cancel dinner. I only have one day of sick leave because I used it all for my hip surgery so hopefully I get better soon. Mom should be going home tomorrow.

Boy, reading back this sounds pretty pathetic. Things are really not so bad here. It is raining tho. :-)

Otherwise all is well and we are doing OK.
Just thought I'd pop in and say Hi.
