Liposuction vs Tummy Tuck?

I am 5+ yrs out and have gained back 20 lbs in the past yr. Not sure
what is happening except that I am on several medications. I know it is not
from excess calories as I do track those. All of this excess is in my
abdominal area. I am considering liposuction or tummy tuck--not sure what
the difference is? I would love to hear from people who have had either one
and if there is a preference or an advantage of one over the other.
Also- cost as I will be paying out of pocket. What is the maximum amount of
fat (in lbs) that can be extracted? Thanks to all.
I think it all depends on how much hanging skin you have. I had a lower body lift and 17 lbs of excess skin was removed. The doctor also did muscle tightening and lipo. If you already have quite a bit of excess abdominal skin I think lipo would lead to more but I'm not sure .
It is expensive. My lower body lift was $14,000.00 and was all self pay. I'm thinking of trying a teaching university for the inner thigh lift that I'd like to have done next year. I'm currently working out at a gym 4-5 days per week, trying to remove the 20 lbs I've regained and to tone and sculpt as much as I possibly can.
Then come next spring or summer I hope to have an inner thigh lift. I weighed 377 lbs before WLS and the upper inner thighs are so stretched that I don't think they'll ever be much better than they are now. Good luck in your search for knowledge.

A tummy tuck cuts off the saggy/extra skin from your stomach area and is permanent unless weight is re-gained and the skin is re-stretched.
Some people do Lipo along with the tummy tuck.
I had a tummy tuck to remove my excess skin but all that skin only weighed less than 5 lbs....skin doesn't weigh as much we would think it would. I LOVE the results of my TT. I did not have any lipo on my tummy....I had no "fat" just "skin" to be removed.
You can set up free consultations with your local surgeons to get a good idea of what the costs would be. Most surgeons will tell patients that they need to be at goal weight and a healthy BMI before surgery should be done.
My personal opinion......
I don't think anyone should use liposuction or a tummy tuck as a way to lose weight.
Best wishes on your decisions.
