What's New this Sunday Morning?
Good mornin', ya'll.
Another jamma Sunday. Our DIL stopped by on her way to Wally World, but I don't need anything, and I didn't feel like gettin' dressed just to go along. Her and her youngest son are battling their allergies! Stuffy heads, scratchy throats, feeling miserable! SOOOOO glad I don't have that problem.
Our son is gonna try to find an apartment to rent near Miramar, CA for his 2 year tour there. Problem is, he's only gonna have a couple of months between the time he gets home and the time he has to leave again. He's gonna need a vehicle out there and he's trying to get his wife to look here and get one he likes and he'll drive it from NC to CA in Oct. Our DIL is trying to convince him to fly to OR and get one there and drive it to CA. OR has no sales tax, and is their 'home of record'. So many things to consider when you'll be away from the family for 2 years. Other than the occassional long weekend they can squeeze in.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday and the new week goes well for you too. I'll bet some of you have family on Spring Break. Enjoy.
Have a fantabulous day!
I am sure there is no easy solution for a military family. Separation is hard on everyone, but moving kids from school to school every couple of years would be so hard too. Freedom certainly is not free. I am so NOT a confrontational person. I just wish everyone could get along, but it never seems to work that way. Be sure to tell your son AND his family that I appreciate their sacrifices.
You continue to amaze me! I'm like Susan. Treat yourself lovingly while your body recoups from your treatments. I know that cancer treatments have to kill some of the good cells in order to get all of the bad. Your body needs time to recover so make sure that you are giving yourself all of the nutrition that you need and the rest too!

Is it Sunday already...I've kind of lost track of time since my surgery....
Nothing exciting to report other than the fact that I am still in after-care but doing really well (I think so). I have one very raw/sore area at the groin incision of my left leg and the same is true with the incision in my left armpit.....it is VERY bumpy/ropey and sore. I'm hoping the surgeon will look at it tomorrow and let me know what he plans on doing to correct the ropeyness (I don't think that's a real word). With all of my other incisions I've never had any bump up and look ropey like this so I don't know why now....I'm not worried at all, I am 100% sure my surgeon has a plan for it.
I'm going to keep this short because the pain killer is starting to kick in and I may nod off in the middle of typing....

Hope you all are doing well and having a great weekend.

Happy Sunday to you all!
I was up early too--with the runs. Ugh. It's not clearing up so I have a feeling I'm skipping church. I don't like to do that but when I have to go, I have to be able to get there immediately. When I get these spells I just stick close to home, inconvenient and irritating as that is. Oh well.
Yesterday I was bummed because we didn't see our grandson. On the upside, though, we're getting him for the day on Good Friday. It's supposed to be a nice warm day so we have some fun stuff planned.
Candy, are you looking forward to retiring or is this not a good thing?
I made an appointment for next week to talk to a guidance counselor at the community college. I'm going back to finish my associate's degree starting in the fall. I'm hoping this will help make me more marketable.
Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Candy and Friends,
Sunday mornings are a laid back time for me. I make a pot of coffee, get the paper and sit and read the news and the adds for an hour or so. At last! The spring flowers are in the ads this week!
It's still somewhat cool at night so I think I'll wait another week or so to get anything more to plant. I do have tulips blooming. The wind blows so much up here on the hill and there are no trees large enough to protect us yet so my little tulips kind of tilt to the east!
It's a constant surprise when something erupts through the surface. I just stuck my discounted bulbs in wherever I could get them to go in January. Figure I can divide and replant in a year or so.
Today I plan to go to the gym at sometime this morning. I do not have jury duty this week so we will head over to the west side about Wednesday. We'll spend a night with our son in Seattle and then perhaps swing by our friend's little beach place at Grayland for a night. There is a "clam tide" which means lots of people will be out on the beaches digging razor clams. We used to do that eagerly but with old knees and backs we are content to watch the activity now!. We'll then head down to see Erin and her family. They are getting a new Toyota Highlander on Monday. This is to replace the Dodge truck that was totaled last month. Hopefully this will accommodate their growing family for a while!
Candy, as the days get closer I'm sure you'll get more and more excited. It sure sounds like you've planned well and will be able to enjoy your retirement years. What don't you treat yourself to something special at the end of each work week leading up to your last day? That day you'll have something short term to look forward to.
Looks like it is breezy and overcast today. Probably not an outside day. Wishing you all a nice one wherever you are.

Yes, I definitely am looking forward to retirement. I've talked around it for 2 years, but it was time. I work in a state prison, and the older I get the worse it seems. The negativity among the inmates, and even more, the staff, has been really getting to me. So, I took a bit of a penalty, and decided to retire at age 60 instead of 62. Things will be a little tight till my Social Security starts in 2 years, but I'm nothing if not a good budgeter. (Translation....really, really cheap.....) It's a huge decision, and I'm on my own, no husband, no other support, so I'll have to live on what comes in for me. Per diem work may be available, but I don't want to do it if I can help it, due to the same issues that have me retiring early. I've made the decision, and the paperwork is all done, and even though it's on my mind, I know it's the right choice for me.
And I'm looking forward to it so much! That's why I decided to retire in the Spring. Gardening is my passion, and I'll be able to do it full time if I want to.
Time to go do a few things before I have to get ready for work. You all have a great day.
