Hiccups...

So I am almost 3 months out.  Can anyone tell me why I have hiccups?  They aren't too disturbing but they are loud.  My husband always says 'I hope you don't explode!'

I actually think I've heard before what causes them, but I don't know where I saw it,.

Prayers to all who need them....

Thanks,    Sandi

Hello!

I usually hiccup when my pouch is full...loud and unexpected ones too! *s*

Sandi,

I hiccup when my pouch is full too - lol - so much so that my African Grey, Obi, now hiccups - lol - it's too funny.  Mine are loud, too, but I only do a few of them.  When we're eating dinner and the first hiccup occurs, my dear hubby says "guess that means you're full, huh?" LOL

Yep, like they said, it is one of the signs your full.

Yup, even for lapbands - pouch is full.

Hi Sandi

I agree with the others.  That's my sign that I am full.  If I hiccup, I know I better stop eating because if I take too many bites after the first hiccup then I am miserable.

Thanks for saying Prayers to all who need them.......my daughter is patiently awaiting her approval for surgery which was denied on March 9th.  We filed an appeal on March 12th and are waiting on pins and needles for a decision.  She's called me every day, several times a day in tears saying she just can't take the stress of not knowing anymore.  Please include her in your prayers!  I've been praying to God every day to give her this opportunity for surgery and a healthy life.

Take care,
Nan

Thanks everyone for your answers.   Obviously, I'm going to have to pay attention to when it happens.  I think it's usually a few minutes after I finish eating.

Too funny! When I told my surgeon I had unexpected very loud hick-ups after I ate, he looked at me like I was crazy. Thanks for making me feel normal.

I have "delayed" hiccups.  Mine usually occur about 20-30 minutes AFTER I've stopped eating.  I wish they happened sooner so I'd know it's time to stop.

Mine are sometimes delayed also.  My theory on that is it takes a while for the food to go through and fill up your pouch and when it's full you hiccup.....  Like I said, just a theory.  I just learned they were caused by being full.  haha
