Morning Cassie and those to follow,

Gee, where is everyone? Bunch of slug-a- beds, for sure!  I slept until about 6:00, which is great for me and I'm ready to hit the streets. Well, not really, but it sounds good. I have such a hard time with the time change in the Spring! Just starting to feel like I'm coming out of the fog it causes me. I hate this feeling I get, but I guess our lawmakers have more on their plates than to pass a law requiring  us to leave our clocks alone, I'll have to deal.

My SIL called yesterday and said the Neurologist saw my MIL yesterday and gave a final diagnosis. She has Lewy Body Dementia, no cure, treatment, and about a 1-2 yr prognosis. Considering she's had it for awhile, there's no telling how much of a future she has. Very sad.

Not much else happening here, just a short day at work then home again. Hope everyone has a great day!

I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL!  I'm having a problem adjusting to the time change too--you're not alone.  I slept for 8 hours but then fatigue hit me and I had to take another nap!

Good morning, ya'll.

It's gonna be another beautiful day in the neighborhood!! A little crisp out there this morning, but sunny.   I love Spring and Fall in NC.  No humidity!

Yesterday we had a couple come over to give us an estimate on getting our yard ready for summer.  Raking up all the dead pine needles, picking up all the blown down branches and pine cones, spreading our fertilizer we bought, etc. And hauling it all off.  We can't put yard waste in our trash anymore.  If they do a good job we may hire them to do our regular summer stuff.  Edging, and weed eating, and other stuff.  We have a rider mower that my DH loves to use.  But sometimes it is SOOO humid here, it just wears you out standing outside.

My weight has been the same for 6 weeks now!!  This isn't my first rodeo.  I KNOW what should be getting those scales moving!  Eating less, eating more, exercising more, changing things up.  NOTHING is having any effect.  I am still not able to do many minutes on my elliptical, but I am making myself get on it at least twice a day till me legs turn to rubber. I journalled my food and was really not getting enough calories at first.  Just not hungry. So increased it to a solid 1000 to 1200 cal a day. I am trying to get those calories from good foods. Anybody have any other ideas?

Honey, I think you should give yourself a break here, and remember you are still recovering from extensive medical treatment!  My nut says I should be getting a minimum of 1200 calories a day, preferably 1400, so maybe that will help as a guide?  Do you like avacados? They are high in calories and good fat. I also switched to 2% milk for awhile when I needed to up my calories. Now I'm back down to skim or Calorie Countdown milk (a low carb milk)

Take care of your health, the rest will come.

Hugs to you!

Good Morning!   Coming here first thing in the morning makes me feel like I'm having my tea with good friends!

I have started a load of laundry and plan to try to clean some today.  It may completely wear me out, but it's a necessary evil.  I also plan to dig out my spring/summer clothes and box up the winter fat clothes to give away.  I won't wear them again!  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I will mourn a couple of my dress jackets, but I'll give them to Mom so I'll enjoy seeing her wear them.

I was hoping my DH would help out, but a friend of his just called and wants him to go to an auction today, so he just left.

Maybe when he gets home we can go to Walmart (it's 30 miles away).  I do have a short list of things I can't get here in our small town.  I know he wants to go to Walmart too, so I'll wait until he gets home and we'll both go.  Generally, I would just jump in the car and go myself.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Good Morning Cassie and Friends,

I plan to go to the gym early this morning and then come home and work in the yard. It's still early here, just a bit after 6am so SOME of us aren't slug a beds as my mom used to say!

My jury obligation is finished. I called in last night and they don't need me this week. Woohoo! That means we may go over and see the grandbabies a bit later in the week. It's their spring break too and they'll be home from daycare all week.

I think we'll go over, see them for a night, then head to the beach for a couple of nights. We'll stop back in to visit again on our way home. The washington beaches aren't my favorite; at least the ones where the clams are. . . the reason for us going. I prefer the Oregon coast or the northern Washington Olympic Penninsula area. But it will still be a bit cold and rainy anyway.

Nothing much else, same stuff different day. Hope you all have a good one.

Good Morning

It's sunny and bright here today.  Also 29 degrees at last check.  Someone needs to tell the weatherman it's almost April.  But there's no snow and the rain from last week has stopped.  And I still have my winter coat out, if I need to go somewhere.  Life is good.

I went to the mall yesterday.  I was bored, and everyone was busy, so I went alone.  I have to be in the mood to shop, and apparently I was, because I picked up about $250 of clothes for under $50, including a few Christmas gifts.  Also treated myself to a couple new pairs of earrings, and a cute ring.  Since I'll be able to wear any jewelry I want after I stop working, I thought I'd add to my little jewelry collection.  I have no idea how many things I've purchased but not worn, but that should resolve itself soon.

I can't wait to pack away the scrubs hopefully forever, and the sweats, at least for the Spring/Summer seasons.  I love to dress in REAL clothes, and I have a closet full to prove it.  Many still with tags.

I can't shop every time I get bored, though.

I guess......

I have a wedding shower this afternoon, then may treat myself to a movie.  I've been wanting to see The Blind Side, and it won't be in the theaters much longer.  Went to see It's Complicated last week, and I highly recommend it.  I haven't laughed that hoar in SOOOOO long!  It was a little bittersweet, too, but SO funny!

Gonna Farm a little, have some more coffee and read the paper, then get ready for the shower.  Everyone have a great day!

"The Blind Side" is very good ... I loved "It's Complicated" too ... funniest movie I've seen in a long time.

It's 21* and sunny here. The sunshine showed all the streaky windows and dust on the blinds. Leaning over the tub and washing the blinds I thought " Why am I washing these instead of tossing and buying new ones?". Next time - that's the plan. No sense in tossing clean blinds.

Before meeting with the support group member I got out the old journal and refreshed my memory to those pre-op and new-op days. I had forgotten how crabby and confused I was. It was so difficult to try foods, eat and drink on time and not be frightened of ill effects. Luckily, that has passed and I seldom need to concentrate on what and when to eat. It has become second nature.
