Exercise thread. . . Saturday!

I am so happy to see that Ruth is doing well. I plan to have these very flabby upper thighs slimmed down next year. I'm giving myself til next March when I turn 62 to do as much firming and "sculpting" as possible before surgery. I also want to lose the 20+ lbs I've gained in the last 3 years. That's the only other surgery I plan to have. The arms and breasts will just have ot rely on old fashioned support and camoflage!

Today I plan to go to the gym this morning and then I'm hoping it will be nice enough to work in the yard.

Hope you all have a chance to get some exercise too. Come to think of it we have the choice every day don't we? We just have to take charge and do it!

Hi Karen,
I got to walk around the long halls today...did about a total of 30 mins (broken up into small chunks of  5 mins or 10 mins at a time).
So guess what, I'm going to count that some exercise....no I didn't break a sweat but I did get up and move around instead of just laying in the bed 24hrs.

Catch up with you again in a day or so...

Good for Ruth! That certainly does count.  Do you have any drains? That was my least favorite part of my lower body lift.

I think I'll need to have the same type of inner thigh work that you had. Right above my knees is also quite droopy. Next March I turn 62 and will start drawing my SS. I plan to work really hard between now and then to do all that can be done through diet and exercise and then have the surgeon do the rest. I really liked the doctor who did my LBL but he is very expensive. I'm  thinking of looking into the U of Washington Medical Center to see if a "teaching" hospital might be less expensive. I've already got plenty of scars and am not out to look like a beauty queen. Just want all of that loose flesh gone!

I went to the gym first thing this morning. Spent a little over and hour and got almost 4 miles in on the treadmill and the eliptical.

When do you get to go home? You take good care ok?

Hi Karen,
The best part of this recovery is that I have NO DRAINS!  so much easier without having them dangling off the body!  The only down side of course is that fluid stays in more so I swell more but this pass.

With the residency programs you can get great surgeons supervising the newer ones and I believe you pay about 1/2 the price.  There are some women on the plastics forum who did that and have had great results and are very happy.  I can give you names if you want to ask them questions.

I should be going home tomorrow (Monday).  I have 2 spots I need the surgeon to look at but I don't think they will be a reason for me to stay here.

I hired a nurse this time to come and help out for a couple of hours....she gives me a shower and yesterday I got a back massage, foot massage and forearm/hand massage....it was WONDERFUL...so good that I'm hoping I can get it again today (just the foot and calfs would be enough).
Matthew is doing a great job with pulling meals together, I just have to avoid the gassy foods right now but other than that I'm ok with my normal diet.

Good going with the 4 miles....I'll be walking the halls again when the nurse gets here...I think I'll put on the pedometer to measure it.. (silly of me I know).

Thanks
TTFN
