Good mornin', ya'll.

Yep, it's Friday.  Our DIL stopped by on her way to work (as she usually does).  She says she is having a pitty party this weekend.  Our son officially got his orders to CA.  He is deployed now in the Middle East.  He will have less than 2 months at home before he has to report out there.  He will go unaccompanied, so it should just be a 2 year stay.  Then hopefully he can get back to this base, or at least this coast, for his last 2 years before retiring.  They will try to manage with one of them coming or going every 2 or 3 months.  Lots of frequent flyer miles!

We are still waiting for my Sister's CPA to get Mom's taxes done so we can get that part of it all behind us. I'm not sure what is taking so long.  She has had them for over a month! I made arrangements for Mom's ashes to be buried in their plot when I go to NY this summer. Mom's sister passed in January, and her brother passed earlier this month.  They were cremated too.  So we will have the funeral home bury all of them on the same day.  No service or memorial (we all did that already).  Then we can all say our goodbyes. That is our town's 'reunion weekend', so there will be a lot of their old classmates in town who may want to say goodbye also.

Everyone have a fantabulous day.

He will like CA. We are nice people here.
Women are angels.

We are flexible.

Good morning Nancy & all.

Margo happy anniversary on your surgery!!!!! Good luck on the interview too.

We had an interesting day yesterday. Dh made an appt. at the VA clinic for a small hernia. They ended up sending him by ambulance to Munson hospitol. He has a cold & last week he had a uri. They were afraid of a blood clot in his lungs. Well after a few hours of IV antibiotics, IV steroids, x rays & a breathing treatment we were sent home. I was so scared, thisis the 3rd. time over the years we have been through this. Twice I have been told he was dying! Today back to the Doctor. They can't fix the hernia until the infections are gone. We were told bronchitis this time.

I am glad the VA is so cautious, but it is scary for the family's.
Sun is out today & calling for warmer temps. next week. Maybe we will have a summer! Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

Brrrr ... it's cold up here, 26 degrees, but at least it's sunny. I was sure we were going to get rain because my joints hurt. But maybe it was just the cold weather.

Well, I woke up this morning and spent a half hour on the toilet ... IBS flare-up, so much fun. Still feel crappy after that. Sitting here drinking peppermint tea instead of coffee and my tummy isn't very happy at all. I wanted to get to the pool today but between the upset tummy and the headache, I just want to crawl back into bed. Don't know what I did to myself, but something upset my tummy.

I stayed up later than usual watching the basketball games ... great double OT game between Xavier and Kansas State. This year's tournament has been very exciting, so many upsets. That's what I like. And the fact that I've been able to watch it (in the past I would have been at work) has made it even better.

Anyway, with me not feeling very well, I think I'm just going to lay low today, do some work on my freelance job, fill out the forms for disability that I received and rest up. Obviously my body wants me to rest. Not that I've been doing that much anyway. And then there's more basketball later tonight.

Have a good day. Margo, good luck on your interview.

Today is my Saturday, and I have nothing planned.  I have a wedding shower tomorrow afternoon, then back to work Sunday.  I think I'll start wading through the pile of paperwork on my kitchen table.  I have so many papers to fill out by the end of the month, and I'm so afraid I'll miss something, that I leave them all neatly piled on the table till I can sit down and get to them.  Unfotunately, the cats LOVE to sit on papers of any kind.  I'd get some baskets to keep everything straight, but Honey loves so sleep in baskets even better.  Even if her chubby butt does NOT quite fit....!

I forsee some very neat drawers and closets.  It's what I do when I'm stressed and/or when I'm not sure what to do with myself.  When the two situations collide, look out!  It usually looks like someone's moving in or out of the house....

I may go to the mall tonight.  I've been itching to do some browsing/shopping.  That's also something I do when I'm stressed.  Fortunately, I'm all about big sales and clearance racks, so I spend very little.  Plus, I have COUPONS!!!!!

Everyone have a wonderful weekend.

Bringing up the rear here! Worked all day today, the wind blew hard all night. I was up and pacing most of the night. I think I'll start going down to the basement when it blows that hard. I just can't sleep. It makes me so restless.

Well, Mike had his physical yesterday. Same stuff different year: lose weigh****ch your diet, exercise except his blood sugar count is up 10 pts from last year now at 118. So. . . I think it's time that we start carb counting.  He blames me so  I figured that if I don't cook more than he can eat he can't blame me. Of course beer consumption has nothing to do with it. No more white rice or white bread. He doesn't like the brown rice or whole wheat bread nearly as well so it won't take as much to do him. He wants to fill up on meat and potatoes, rice or pasta then have a few bites of veggies. Of course the veggies he likes are corn, potatoes, carrots. . . .

I'm willing to help but he's going to have to buy into it. I think our hospital offers free classes. Doctor wants him to take a "pill" for 3 months. I think if he'd just really cut back on the refined stuff he'd find a big difference.

Our schools are on spring break this coming week however I still have to call in tonight to find out when and if I have jury duty next week. If I don't or get out after a day or two we may go over and spend a night or two at the beach and of course stop and see the babies on our way.

I think tonight will be a Tylenol Pm night. I need some sleep. And if it's windy again downstairs to the basement I'll go.

Nancy, One of these years I want to visit the eastern Canadian provinces. Would like to try out my college French!
