FRIDAY! Whatcha doin'?

Hello, OFF family!

It's 2 am and I'm finally all ready for morning. We are leaving again. This time we are headed up north to Quebec and Ottawa.

I've done all the laundry, unpacked my suitcase of my summer, goin'-down-south clothes, refilled it with WINTER clothes and ready for bed.

Friday morning, we go up to my home town area,(about a seven hour drive) the Ottawa Valley, and attend a family wedding reception in Ottawa...they were married last week in the Dominican.

The following day is my birthday so we are meeting JB's cousins for lunch, then my own cousins are taking us out for dinner at "The Keg" that evening for my birthday.

My cousin, Phillip, who was 53, died this morning of lung cancer, yes, he was a smoker.  I had to go and see Mom this afternoon and tell her.

So we will head back to Quebec across the Ottawa River to my Mom's home town and we will attend his funeral on Monday morning, then stay a few more days to "catch up" with family members.

We should be back home on Wednesday, then, that weekend, I attend a family baby shower (JBs side).

So, a wedding, a birthday party, a funeral and a baby shower- all in the family and all in one week..and, as my DS, Derek, says "a REAL slice of life".

Tonight, it is bitterly cold here...been raining all day Thursday..I do hope the roads will be good for our trip.  I will be packing my flannel underwear for sure!

So off to bed with me...enjoy the week.  I'm taking my new laptop along so I can pop in if I get the time.

Wow!  YOU have a busy week ahead, Nancy - and it is the cycle of life, isn't it.  Sorry about your cousin - 53 is way too young.

I can't believe I'm the second one to post!  (unless someone else beats me, of course).

I'm off to a 7;30 therapy appt and then to work.  BUT - - it IS Friday, so that is just fine with me.  I have to work a bit on the weekend, but from home, so that suits me just fine.

We don't have a lot planned, just our coffee with our WLS support group tomorrow and lunch with Michael's sister and our brother in law Saturday.   It will fill up.  We have the netflix movie Julie and Julia, maybe for tonight.  I'm looking forward to that. Last week we watched Up and that was good, but not "Oscar-worthy" and I'm reading a good book and working on a new knitting project.  And there's always housework!

Have good weekends, everyone.

Mary

Hi Nancy and everyone,

Sorry to hear about your cousin Nancy.  God took him too early.   It must be devastating for your family.

Today, I have to take my sister to another doc appointment.  I am really getting drained from all of this.  My brother is going to give me money for the gas I have to use.  This will help a lot.  Since I am not wealthy..lol

it SNOWED here last night and early morning.  We have little more than an inch.  Ugh....
I am really ready for spring.  I hate seeing the white stuff already.  It is also very cold.

My husband  works his regular hours today, but has to go back in at 3am.  He is not looking forward to it.  He also has an appointment to see his doctor today.  He is having some discomfort in his heart.  I hope everything is ok.

Well, that is it for me today.  I hope everyone has a happy day!

Peace
Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

Hi Nancy and OFF family,
Wow Nancy you will be busy, I'm sorry about Phillip, I'll keep him in my prayers. You will be surrounded by family and friends all week, enjoy the baby shower...I love babies!

It's quiet here at work right now, it will pick up...it always does on Friday!

I've been checking more on my MIL, she is 87 and her hubby past away last June. The youngest son walked in on her unannounced and found her holding dad's picture and crying. They were joined at the hip. She is getting more fragile, is on oxygen most of the time and has lost weight. I just let her talk last night, stopped in after spin class at the gym. Picked up her dishes then just sat down and listened to her.

We will probably get her in an assisted living place. If mom is around at Christmas time I will be surprised. She is actively dying. Her choice and I accept that, now her daughter's on the other hand are wanting her to have tests. Why? I asked them, what will you do? Let mom make those decisions...but I'm just the "out law" here. Hopefully they will come to accept that mom doesn't want anything done. My hubby will back me up. I just have to gently explain to my SIL's that mom is at the end stage of her life. Let her go gracefully and peacefully.

May all of you have a wonderful fun filled weekend. The only plans we have is to pick up mom and take her to church, get her outside and socialize a bit. She loves going to church.

Everyone must be sleeping in today.  Just my usual morning.  Read to go to work.  It's nice that I work 5 blocks from home, so I only have to leave home 5 minutes before 8:00.

I've decided today that I am going to set a timer on my computer at work for every 30 minutes.  I will get up from my desk and walk a lap around the hallway.   I hope this will help me gain my strength.

Nothing much planned for the weekend.  I'm going to drag out my summer clothes and pack up some winter things that I won't be able to wear next year.  I'll take those on our next trip to Illinois to give to Mom.  She'll have fun picking out some new things.

When we were there over the weekend for her birthday, she asked me if I thought the dress jacket I was wearing would fit her after it becomes too big for me.  She had a cute twinkle in her eye.  I told her the jacket will be hers.  She's a little smaller than me so it should fit fine.

Have a great day!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

good morning!

brody was walking around at 315 --just walking around--i could hear his toenails on the floor in the hall---he DID have to go out but he won't wake me to tell me that! he is so non-demanding--if i hadn't gotten up i am sure there would have been a mega pile in the kitchen in teh morning! so-of course, both dogs went out- they climbed back into bed with michael and i shut the door! i went to the recliner with the heating pad -full length- on and went back to sleep til 7---

yesterday was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long- i tested 3 ppl.........was all set up for the evening test and no one came there either so i left 30 minutes after the start time- home and in my jammies by 8 pm...today i have to sort thru the tons of pprwork etc and send stuff back to the office.

then--my job interview! not sure what i will wear- too chilly -um COLD- to wear that dress i had thought about! not to mention the forests on my legs! i need them for warmth!!!! i think i'll wash my black dress pants and just wear them and my colorful jacket over a black top--simple...hope not too colorful! it's tailored and i love it! i feel confident in it so that should help!

tomorrow; i start earnestly unpacking and cleaning here--gotta make some headway.......i know there is more to our living room than the two chairs plunked in front of the console tv!

i'd better get started on the paperwork reduction in my car-unpack and repack stuff for teh courier ....and make some fresh coffee in both pots- michael can't have caffeine due to his meds so we have a two potter.....

wish me luck on this job interview- i want it!

oh yea-today is my surgiversary-6 years ago today.......wow.......wish i could compose my thoughts ......

hugs and prayers...............

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo,
Warm thoughts going your way on your interview.
Don't the forests hurt? I know if I go like two days without shaving my legs they hurt. The *****els touch my pant legs and hurt. Or even the sheets on my bed.....

Let me know how it goes...

We are flexible.
