Metobolic testing

Anyone here had metobolic testing done? I did yesterday & have to wait 2 months to see the doc. What did they do for you if your metobolism was low.

Was it a blood test?  I get 3 blood tests called 'metabolic panel' whi*****ludes TSH, T-3 and T-4 uptakes.  I get the blood tests 1 week prior to seeing the endocrinologist and he has the results by the time he sees me.  Of course, we don't have socialized medicine here, so the rules may be different, but give Obama/Pelosi/Reid a chance and we too will wait months to see a specialist. 

If your metabolism is very low, they give you synthetic thyroid hormone replacement (Synthroid or other brands).  I don't know of any other therapy.

Not a blood test, similar to the sleep study. they put a plastic bubble over your head & measure oxygen in take & CO2 out put. Very exact according to the tech. I am only burning about 50% of my calorie intake

 I had to chuckle too at Maria's common mistake.  Especially since the winter olympics were in Vancouver.  Living in the Pacific Northwest.... we have to have people clarify which city they live in...  or listen closely to the Canadian accent....
