Rowing, sailing and cooking down the river. What are you eating?

Good morning crew mates!
It's a beautiful day on the water and I hope you're all sailing along smoothly!  My eating will be all out of whack with the stupid time change. It's already 8:00 and I'm just finishing my first cuppa. Oh well, such is life, right?

Here's a link for today's recipe. It's for a oat bran muffin you make in a coffee mug. If you exchange the whole egg with 1/4 c eggbeaters, you'll cut the fat down to about nothing. Just saying. It's still pretty dang low in cals, fat, but high in fiber and protein. I'm going to put oat bran on my grocery list and give it a go.

I can see some possibilities here, maybe some chopped turkey bacon(exclude the vanilla), or some raisins/craisins. Hmmmmm. Let me know what you think if you try it.

My day is a little up in the air. Not sure what we're going to do, so I'll just post this morning. Will be back later when I find out where my little dingy will be puttin' off to. Hope you all have a jim dandy day!

Hi Mary,

Glad you're going to give Fitday.com a shot. You'll find it kind of a hassle until you get all of your regular things into the data base, but once you do, it's a breeze!

I'll be interested to see what your calorie count is.

Good morning!

Today the plan is to eat:

Start- Protein shake
Bkfst - 1 egg, fresh baked bread (yum!), diced egg, OJ, tea
Snack - 1/2 apple
Lunch- Meat Pie (ground beef, mushrooms, onion, peas, spices, put into pie dough folded over like an apple turnover but it has meat in it), Salad, Yogurt drink
Snack- 1/2 apple, PB or Pumpkin ball, 10 gr dk choc
Snack - Protein shake
Dinner - Baked Fish with bulgur pilaf OR tuna wraps (tuna stuffed in romaine lettuce wraps

I need to start loading up on my protein more...have to get ready for surgery in less than 2 weeks.  yikes.
Also need to increase my iron...first time in years my blood results show a lower reading with Hemoglobin...I think it's because I've had 3 surgeries in 5 months and another one coming up (last one for a long time!).

Have a great day!

Your meat pie sounds like an English pastie. I used to make them pretty often as Gary loves them. But, I don't do them anymore, just too much dough for me.

Yep, more protein is a good plan!

You are one smart lady.........it is an English Pastie!!!  I was born in England....my mom and grandmother made these all the time  YUMMY!  I make a healthier version ...my grandmothers pastry was packed with lard!   Delicious but unhealthy!!!!   Now a real Pork Pie would be nice but I can't figure out how to make that healthy....LOL!

My grandmother was from Nottingham. I'd love to visit someday. I have a cousin there, still, and would love to meet her.

Here's another one; kidney stew. Wouldn't touch the stuff now on a bet, but Mom made it at least once a month when I was a kid. Dad always seem to have to work late on the nights she cooked it.  LOL

The best pie crusts are  always made with lard. Same with tortillas!

I'm not a fan of Kidney Stew but I did like grandma's steak and kidney pie.  Notice the common thread.....wrap it in a pie and it's ok with me...LOL!!!!

Trying really, really hard today....

This morning, I did 1/2c fat-free cottage cheese and a carb master yogurt.

Lunch was about 4 oz of steak...nothing else!!!

Starbucks called and got an iced coffee and did use 1/2 and 1/2.

I'm full...so far.

4:05... 5 apple rings and a TB of peanut butter
1 iced coffee at $4 out on the patio.

7:30 p.m.

Liver and onions.  I'm done.  Just trying to get good DENSE protein in.  Will have to put it in Fitday and see how I did.

FINAL TALLY FOR THE DAY:

Cals Fat (g) Carbs (g) Prot (g) Delete
Cals Fat (g) Carbs (g) Prot (g) Delete
Cals Fat (g) Carbs (g) Prot (g) Delete
1,055 CALORIES, 69 G FAT, 13 CARBS, 96 PROTEINS.  It was the steak that pushed me over the top on Fat grams.

Got a geranium and planted it in my planter.

Scale said 163 this morning... folks... I haven't weighed that in over 4 years.... I'm terrified, horrified and terribly embarrassed. The size 12 jeans wouldn't fasten comfortably.

However, I couldn't get my rings on my fingers.. so hoping it's water weight... okay, a girl can dream...

Back outside to get away from the refrigerator... going to The Plant Shed for a 'purty'. Louise and JanC will be so proud. Me, who can KILL a silk flower.

I glad to see you are also a member of the ICKASPS...the I Can Kill A Silk Plant Society.  We have NO landscaping in our backyard because I don't know what/how to even begin. I think we're going to have someone come in and get us started on it. I'm tired of looking at it.

hang in there, Kiddo. We'll keep you going!
