Well time to let shorty out and make my coffee and get ready to go to work.
So Post on everyone.
Carla
then I'm meeting friends of mine (actually one of my former students) for drinks at the local Starbucks. They are visiting from North Carolina!!!
Supposed to be a beautiful day here...we may see 60 degrees!!!
Carla, when I was growing up we had a bassett, beagle mix. His name was Shorty. What a wonderful dog..very loyal. He used to cry to get out of the house everyday when he knew the bus would be coming. He would greet my sister , brother and I at the bus and walk home with us. He lived almost 20 years. Enjoy your Shorty...it brings back memories.
Well got to get a move on or I'll be late for my classes...
Have a great Thursday everyone...

Good morning, ya'll.
Well, yesterday I met with my chemo oncologist and had a chemo. Here is what I know: 1- I have 2 chemo sessions left. 2- I will NOT have to take meds for years like breast cancer patients do. 3- I will do follow up with my oncologist in G-ville, it will be every 3 mo for 2 years, every 6 months for 3 years, and then once a year after 5 years. She said the visits after 5 years are mainly social calls so the oncologist can be assured I am still alive. It is considered quite a miracle if a gallbladder cancer patient makes it past 5 years. I told her I'd be around another 20 or so. 4- My liver enzyme levels were back to normal. No explanation as to why they were hi last week. I had done nothing different. 5- I will keep the medi-port for at least 2 years. Unless it bothers me and I insist on having it out. I have to get it flushed every 4 to 6 weeks. 6- What will determine if cancer is back? weight loss, pain, nodules in my nodes, major change in BM's. Then further tests will be warranted. 7- Still no vitamins until done with chemo. 8- No perm for at least a month after chemo or my hair will fall out.
Well, Ha Ha. The doctor had told me I probably would not lose my hair, it would just thin. It has been thinning. But this morning in the shower it began thinning in CLUMPS!! My first call this morning will be to the oncologist to find out WHY this is happening now when I am almost done. I don't really mind, but why now. My second call will be to my hairdresser to see what she can do to even this up to the shortest length (about 1/2").
Everyone have a fantabulous day.

Carla, enjoy your new four-legged family member, he sounds delightful and definitely a cutie!
I had a very busy day at work yesterday, which I enjoyed and today may be another one, so I am just dropping by to say hi to you all. . . we are going to be getting a lot of rain over the next few days, oh joy, my backyard is already mucky from the snow melt, now it will be soupy, which means Foxie Roxie will come in the house with muddy paws and body, oh well, I need to take her to get her nails clipped tonight when I get home from work, just like Dil, she won't let me cut 'em or use the grinder on 'em, oh well. . .
Well folks, time to get ready to leave here, Grammy, I am thrilled that you are finally at the end of your treatments and hope that you will have no recurrence of cancer!
Everyone enjoy your day, prayers and postive thoughts to all!
Hugs, Laureen

Good morning Carla and OFF family,
I have a staff meeting too Carla...but it's this afternoon. I hate meetings!!
Shorty sounds like a good boy who will adjust to your kitties and they will too. Have fun with the little guy!
Nothing new on my end. I've been working on our Bariatric Reunion get together. It will be fun this year. I'm getting everyone up and dancing!!
DH has appt. to see the eye doctor today since he had cataract surgery last week. He says he is finally starting to see a little better.
His boss was taken to the hospital yesterday with chest pains. They transfered him to Omaha, so he'll get better specialized care. We're pretty worried about him. He's the county magistrate and has court on Thursdays. Don't know if they'll bring in another magistrate today or postpone everything.
Everyone have a nice day.
