Thought I would jump out here and say 'HI'...been lurking for a couple of weeks and like what I see ;-)  I live in Northern California, age 60, married and work full time.

I haven't noticed any other Cali folk but would like to be a part of a group of my peers (age wise ^_^).  I'm almost a year post op and just a few lbs away from goal.  I admit maintenance is a little scary..never been there before and hope to gleem advice and guidence from those here who have reached this 'milestone'.

Til a new day begins...I hope everyone enjoyed Tuesday ^_^

Hi Nancy and greetings!

You are really doing well on your weight loss.  That is really great that you are so close to goal.  I have about thirty some pounds to go. It seems to go slower and harder to lose the weight.  Did that happen to you?

Well welcome to the board.  I am sure others will follow.   Don't be afraid to post, the more the merrier..)

Peace
Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

Good morning.  Glad you jumped on out there.  Post all you want, we won't bite.

Maintenance is the hardest part in my mind.  I lost 150 lbs in six months.  The next 18 months were no problem.  The last three or four have been harder on my.  I have gained back about 15 lbs.  Doc keeps telling me it is normal, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.  I gave myself a personal goal to lose the 15 lbs before the OH Conference in Houston in November.  That means I can be happy at losing 1 lb a week.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Hi Nancy and welcome to OFF. We are so glad that you decided to just jump in and let us know you are there. We love it when new ones join in the fun.

We are a close knit bunch of nuts. I know that there isn't much going on in my life that my peeps aren't aware of. We are just like a big happy and sometimes not so happy family. But the wonderful thing about this place is I got to choose my family on here.

Please pull up a comfy seat and join us in the mornings or when you can and share parts of yourself with us so we can get to know you better.

Again........welcome!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hey Nancy,
Glad to see you finally decided to join us!  I live in Michigan, age 58 for now, married and am retired from GM.  I moved to Northern Michigan to enjoy the great north and I love it.  Since losing weight I have much more energy to do the things I've always wanted.  Mainly walking...hiking...and a lot of other activity.  Just being active is a great thing.
The past two weeks I haven't been compliant and have gained a few pounds.  This isn't supposed to happen when I'm only about 8 months out.  I too am deathly afraid of maintenance.  If this past couple of weeks is any indication, I'm looking at trouble.  At least with spring on the way I'll be able to get out more and walk the dogs.  Hopefully that'll help.  I'm still below my doctor's goal for me, but haven't reached my personal goal yet.
Congratulations to you on a wonderful weight loss!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
