My dear old Darla (my 15 year old dog) was under the weather for a couple of weeks. Turns out she ate a whole slow cooker bag- those heavy plastic things that save you from scrubbing the slow cooker. She has always been like a goat that way- she LOVES human food, leftovers, cat poop too (oops- TMI). Well, last week she threw up the WHOLE bag. It was huge...She has been so chipper since she got that out. Oh LORD!
Today (after my sleep) I am going to Stockton to return some mail-order purchases. I'll stop to visit with my shut-in friend. She gets so lonely. Then tonight we have an evening of music.
I hope things are starting to look up for those of you with emotional and physical challenges. I've been in some of those positions and I know how hard the day to day process can be. Hang in there.
Join in the thread... good or bad or boring- we love to know that you are here!

So nice to see you this morning Julia. I know you're busy, so it's nice to see you first thing. Margo, hope things are going ok for you and that the job works out for awhile longer.
Not much going on here but SUNSHINE today!!!! Oh my go**** was so beautiful yesterday we all hated to be in the salon looking out. I've threatened to take my chair outside and do hair under the tree, but no one wants to join me. Bummer.
I'm working until about 4:30 and I'm hoping Gary and I can go out for dinner. We haven't seen much of each other this week, so it will be nice.
Well, that's it from Central AR. Hope everyone in the rest of the Land is doing better and that you have a wonderful day.

Up at 6:30 again. My husband left about 6:00 for Omaha to get running boards and bug guard put on the new SUV. They told us it would be about 6 hours, but they would give us a car to drive so we didn't have to sit there and wait. They're putting some sort of undercoatment under the car, so that's why it will take so long. I just didn't think I wanted to go along and "kill" 6 hours. I don't have the strength to spend time on my feet shopping (oh how I wish I did!), wouldn't be able to go to a restaurant either, so I opted out of the trip. It's 2 hours up there too. I just don't want to over-do. He has an old friend who lives in the area, so he is going to go to Paul's house and hopefully find him at home.
Nothing else planned for today. Hubby brought up 2 empty totes for me to pack away the snowmen (good riddance!) I have a large "stash" of WLS stuff - SF jello, pudding, Crystal lite, tea, protein powders, vitamins, etc. on a small counter top in the kitchen. It's overflowing. I started to organize it yesterday. I'll finish that job this morning. Then I think I'm going to actually dust for the first time in almost a month!
A friend/co-worker stoppd by yesterday with a gift. She is such a special lady and always so considerate. I received more flowers from another friend yesterday. The smell of fresh flowers sure brings spring to mind. I am so ready for spring, as everyone is.
My SIL called yesterday to tell me my Uncle isn't doing well and Hospice is now seeing him. My Dad was so upset that he couldn't call me. Uncle Bob is Dad's older brother. He has liver cancer. I think Uncle Bob has given Dad the idea that treatments were working. Dad just isn't ready to lose yet another brother. We attended Uncle Bob and Aunt Billie's 60th anniversary party in October. I knew it would be the last time I would see him. This is really hard, as we were always quite close when I was growing up. And, of course I worry about Dad and how this will affect his health. Stress does bad things to our bodies.
Well, enough gloom and doom.
Everyone have a nice day.

Good morning, ya'll.
My DH and I were both awake half the night coughing. Not sure why, we seem to be fine this morning.
This last little unfill seems to be working quite good for me. I had irritated the stoma so much that for Wed and Thursday I was just on warm mushies. Yesterday I graduated to 'real' food and was fine. It's like starting all over again.
I have just sat here and watched tha animal contol truck go by three times. We have some VERY noisy dogs across the street and I wonder if someone called in. But I think the dogs recognize the truck, cause they never seem to be barking when he goes by. Or maybe the owner sees the truck and puts them in the garage or something. She has 3 'outdoor' dogs and about 6 or 8 'indoor' dogs, plus 3 or 4 birds. I guess she really likes animals.
DH and I are off to the Commissary soon. I really need just milk and eggs. If the grandsons come down for breakfast they'll be stuck with OJ. The oldest grandson's friend is on Spring Break and we had him here for snacks most of the week. Of course, a snack for them is 3 tuna melts, or an entire box of velveeta and shells, or 3 grilled cheese sandwiches and a can of tomato soup. That is per boy!!
I sure wish I had bought more Girl Scout Cookies the day I saw them on sale at WalMart. Now there are none to be found in our town!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

So nice to see you, my California friend. I so wish I could meet you one day.
We have had a whole week of sunshine here in West Michigan. That's so strange. The sun never shines this much in winter. I know it won't last. We will get more crappy weather before winter is out.
I have no big plans today. I want to get some cleaning done around here. I finally found my W2s so I do have to do my Grand Rapids income taxes (already did my federal and state) ... the city return always zeroes out anyway. I want to get some stuff shredded and out of the way.
There are two spring training games on TV this afternoon, so I plan to watch baseball. Can't think of a better way to spend my time. Maybe I'll pull out my ceramics and work on that for an hour or two (can't have my knee bent for too long). It's nice to have a laptop ... I was able to write and apply for jobs without leaving the comfort of my recliner. The only thing I have to leave the recliner for is to print.
Well, have a good day.
