I can't shower until the washer and dishwasher stop running. Then I can shower, head to the grocery store , last stop =  Salvation Army for books.

Kari, (oldest granddaughter) and her boyfriend are coming for dinner. What to cook?

Tom shaves his head & beard in the Summer but lets it all grow in the Winter. He "lets" me use the electric clippers for trims. UGH! I am all itchy from those itty bitty hairs.

Kisses

Good Morning Margo and Friends,

Hit the ground running after returning from Texas on Friday afternoon. Worked part of the day yesterday helping first graders with math. That is so much fun! I taught middle and high school. Don't think I have the patience for full time with the little fleas but they sure are fun for a few hours!

Spring is arriving here. The past two days have been sunny and warm enough to get out in the yard. I hauled an old iron headboard home from a Seattle thrift store. Had to dismantle it to get it in my car. Never  tell this old broad that something can't be done! Borrowed a screwdriver at the thrift store and in about 10 minutes had it apart and in the car.

Mike couldn't believe it when I showed up at our son's with it. I had left to get a haircut! Anyway, it was easier to take apart than to get back together! Mike and I spent the afternoon in the garage working on it, then sprayed it a copper color. It looks great! We'll attach it to the queen bed  downstairs. I love "repurposing" stuff. More and more I am like my mom! I get pleasure out of reusing things that would be thrown out.

Made it to the gym for a strenuous hour yesterday and will go again today. Trying for 3-4 days a week. Getting about 3.5 miles in each day. Can't tell that it's helping any yet but my week of Texas barbecue, San Antonio TEX-MEX, and catfish propably will take a while to get rid of!

Made a yummy meatloaf recipe that was on Allrecipes. com. Love that site. I can eat a slice of meatloaf with a bit of mayo on it for a protein snack. It doesn't disagree with me like chunks of whole meats still do.

Well, it's almost 10am and I'm still in my jammies. Will go to the gym and then I think stop for a foot pampering. I love pedicures!

You all have  a good one.

Hi Karen
Which meatloaf recipe did you make?
I am at a point where I hate the look and smell of any meat.  I am having a hard time getting in enough protein  without meat, but I am drinking protein drinks to bring up the protein grams.
I'm wondering if a meatloaf may be less offensive to me since it isn't a big hunk of flesh like other meat is is.
I don't eat eggs either because I can't stand thinking of what they really are and how they look!  I must be really weird because I have felt like this for the last ten years or so; however, I have eaten some roast beef, but that was before the RNY.
Anyway, could you share the recipe that you're using?
BTW I've lost 52 lbs. and have gone down two sized in slacks.  I don't think that I realize how much I have lost.  My friend, who I picked up to attend a concert with last week, said that she knew it was me coming down the street because she recognized my SUV but she didn't recognize my profile.  Whoopee.
Thanks.

Margaret, I think it was called something like "Man's favorite" I'll check and PM you. I get daily recipes from allrecipes.com and it was on their site a couple of days ago. I'm 5 years out from my RNY and there are still some things that I used to love that I no longer even like! I used to love a good steak but don't even like it anymore.  For the first year or more many things just didn't taste good to me .  I relied on protein shakes, cottage cheese, cheese, eggs, egg salad, tuna, Now most things taste good to me (sometimes too much so!) so hang in there.

Hey Miss Margo. I just wanted to check in and say "hey". It's been a while since I was here. I still have Jordan, and we are getting along great. It will be nice to be able to go out with him in warm weather to do things we have not been able to because of the snow and cold. Come on spring !!!

We have started seeds growing in our indoor containers, to get ready for our garden. We can hardly wait. Got the tomatoes, peppers, and broccoli up already. Will have to re pot them into something bigger, but that will give us something to do.....John and Jordan
Don't blame me. I voted for Sarah......

Lap Band on 05/21/07 with
Hi Margo and all my OFF friends,
Margo, Did you ever sell your house?  I hope so.
I had a little stomach thing yesterday but it is better today.  Finished up all my tasks from after the Valentine dance I chaired, so it's put to bed for another year.  The band and hall are booked for next year.  We made $2600 - not bad for a recession.
This weekend is our Blue & Gold Banquet for the cub scouts.  On Sat. morning I will also be giving training for Tiger Cub Leaders.
I'm going tomorrow night to exchange afghans with my niece.  I made one for her right from the pattern and it came out a little on the short side.  She is a tall girl.  So I made another and revamped the pattern so it's about 6 feet long.  I'm going to swap it with her for the short one.  I made her a scarf too.
I bought some Easter stuff at Walmart for the grandkids.  When it gets close to Easter everything is picked over so I'm starting early.
Things have been warm enough and dry enough that we are starting to see the lawn without snow on it.  The sun has been shining yesterday and today so I'm feeling more alive and anxious for Spring.  I can't wait for the day when I can open all the windows and air out the house.
Hubby got a Corned Beef Brisket that I'll cook on Sunday.  He says he doesn't want to wait until St. Patrick's Day.
Next week I'm making an appt. for a manicure and pedicure for my niece's wedding on the 13th.  That girl is going to have a job on making my winter feet look beautiful. LOL. I'm thinking of getting a new dress too.
Stay healthy my friends and prayers to all of you facing challenges.
Bev
