What's New revue for Monday 3/1
Good morning George and my OFFer friends!
George, I'm curious about your tortillas too. Having been married into a Mexican family, and living in So CA for 50 years, I've never heard of those ingredients in a tortilla. Do tell, please!
Gary and I went to the Home Show in Little Rock yesterday. I think we've pretty much decided to stay put here for awhile. I'd love to move, but I just don't think the timing is right. So, we might just do some things around here to help me feel better about living here. Our backyard has never been landscaped, mostly because I don't know where to start, and I think some help with that would go a long way to making me happier. I want to look out the window and see pretty. Or at least something other than a plain fence and lawn.
Going out to lunch with a friend today and then to our knitting group at the local library. They are all beginners so I don't get much out of it as far as instruction or help with a tricky spot in a project, but I do enjoy the time with some nice ladies. All in all, it will be a nice, relaxing day off.
Okay, I'm off to check in with my Crew who are sailing down the same river with me. Hope you all have a Marvelous Monday!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Hi George and my OFF family:
George, exhibition baseball starts today ... there's a game on the MLB Network (which I understand you don't get ... but I do!). I will be out of the house, though, today, at that time because I'm meeting my friend Kim to see "Up in the Air" at the cheaper theater. I am having issues with my back, though, so I hope I'm not in too much pain. My left side hurts all the way down into my left knee.
The "Row 3 Reunion" with my former coworkers was fun ... one guy, Mike (we used to call him "Mr. Smooth" because whenever you'd ask him how he was doing, he'd say "Smooth") brought his guitar and played and sang ... he's pretty good, too. We watched the Olympic gold medal hockey game, drank homemade beer made by Dixon and had pulled pork which was very good ... I have lots of cake because no one would take home. They were still going strong at 8 when I left but my knee was really hurting me from being down for five hours. I can't stand to have it bent that long and there was no place to get it elevated. So I left.
I'm trying to steer clear of watching QVC today ... it's their big silver sale and I'd love to buy, but know I shouldn't because I don't need to squander money on silver jewelry, so it's good I'm getting out of the house today. Otherwise, I'd be flipping back and forth to QVC ... not a good idea! Hard for me to resist temptation. Yes, I know, I could just not go to the channel ... but I get bored.
I've decided after last night that I must still be depressed about the layoff because I'm still very bitter and angry. One of my former coworkers kept telling me to let it go, and I try, but it still hurts a lot. I know in the long run it will be good for me to be out of there, but I'm still very hurt that they laid me off after telling me I was one they wanted to keep. My other coworkers don't really understand that ... they took buyouts, they weren't really kicked out, although they were urged strongly to leave. I was kicked out. My feelings are still very raw. The subject came up because two of them are back proofing pages and I said I would never do that. Gary, who hosted the party, said I should never say that. I said you guys are in a different situation, you took buyouts, you didn't get kicked out. They didn't want me anymore. That's hurt my pride.
Sorry to vent ... I know this is the one place I can unburden myself (along with my friend Mary Kay and my psychologist).
Anyway, it's bright and sunny today and 35 degrees. Looks like it's going to be a nice day. I'm looking forward to getting out of the house instead of sitting inside all day. Hope your day is good.

To those of you wondering about George's tortillas, I believe he is talking about SPANISH tortillas, which are actually large OMELETTES with potatoes and onions (and anyting else?)
It's a new day, a new week and a new month today and I really wish I could partake from George's tortillas but my stomach is still queasy and won't witstand much use or abuse.
I'm so sick of winter! Even usually sunny Greece has been dark and overcast for over a month now and I miss my natural Vitamin D!! Everyone in the house is either sick or still recovering from the flu and all I see are frowns, all I hear are grumbles.
I long for spring and summer, green grass and blue seas, sunny skies and... well, you get the idea.
