Hi George and fellow tired it's "MONDAY" day!

George, you and Mary work so hard and offer up so much of your time.  Good people.

Margo, I wi**** was spring too.

Pat, glad the foot is getting better.

Irish, I wish the past few weeks and those to come, were same old same old.  Be happy they are..lol

Oh well, yesterday went to my in laws.  They are in bad shape.  Looks like there is going to be a lot of running around to do with them.  I don't mind, I just have a lot of other things going on at the moment too.

Kids, driving me crazy on top of all the stress.  I want them O U T !  I think it is about time.  They add so much to my work load and my stress.  Without good jobs, where are they going to go?  Oh well, just venting..lol

Everyone, take care...

Peace
Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

If it was my decision, I would not be so busy outside of work.  I prefer to just sit back and watch TV.  But the sacrifices we make.

Good mornin', ya'll. Yesterday was a nothing day. It seems we have a lot of those with our son deployed and our DIL in OR at her Mom's. The grandson's came by, of course, (actually one of them had spent the night). Sunday is ALWAYS BLT morning at Gramma's. Today I have a follow-up appt in Greenville later this afternoon. My DH has a follow-up appt with his doctor early tomorrow AM. Neither doc could change their appt so we could do them both in one day. SOOO we will drive up this afternoon, see my doc, have a nice dinner somewhere, spend the night and see his doc in the morning before coming back home. Hope everyone has a fantabulous day!

Best of luck with the doc appts.

I love a good BLT.  Have you tried it with an over-medium egg?  Delicious.

Happy March everyone!  Spring is on the horizon.
OK, George, 3 hours for 5 tortillas?  Are these giants or what?  And what's with the potatoes?  Michiganders don't use potatoes in tortillas.  Exactly what did those 5 tortillas consist of?  I'm very curious.  Sounds like breakfast tortillas?  Is it a casserole type breakfast tortilla?

Today is the beginning of a gorgeous week up in northern Michigan.  All days in the upper 30's and will hit 40 during the weekend.  I'll be headed down state on Friday for a weekend dog show.  Detroit Kennel Club has their big show this month every year.  I won't be showing anything this year, but will be unpaid kennel help!  :)  Should be a fun weekend.  I love the doggies.

Did I tell you that my youngest son is getting laid off at the end of this school year.  He's a 5th grade teacher, and his district has to cut 12 jobs due to budget cuts.  He's #9 on the list.  He just had a baby in Dec, so he'll be a stay at home Dad until he gets called back.  Hopefully it won't be too long.  Michigan is really in trouble.  Teachers are so underpaid as it is, and then to have budget cuts on top of it sucks.

Today we're headed in to Sam's club to get my Rx's.  Maybe we'll hit some thrift shops and consignment shops as well.  Just bum around town...aimlessly.  No real plans.  It's a good day!

Hope everyone else has a good day as well.

A Spanish Tortilla is like a quiche, I guess.  It is very thick (about 1 1/2 inches), the full size of a good sized skillet (we use a 12" one).  All it is is potatoes and onions that are fried in olive oil.  Just til they are soft.  Then put them in a skillet and cover it with eggs.  The trick is letting it cook long enough until it can be flipped.  You put a plate over the top of the skillet and turn it over, then slide it in.  We normally flip each one 3 times.

They are actually a tapa in Spain.  Served in bars while you are drinking your vino.

See the answer a couple of posts below for a link to a picture of one.

my mouth has been watering since you started talking about these, george--we had an exchange student from spain and that was the ONLY thing she could cook and OMG....yummo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Day 6 of my journey.  I finally lost all of the post-op water weight gain (7 lb), plus 2 more.  Yay me!
NOW things will start moving.

We will head to Kansas City in a couple of hours for my post-op check up with the surgeon.  He will remove my dressings and I really don't know about the staples.  It seems too soon to remove them.

I feel great, but weak.  I want to stop at the grocery store on the way home to purchase some low fat cottage cheese, deli meats, salmon, yogurt, string cheese, because tomorrow I get to add a new food every day!  I'm so excited!   I hope I have the strength to get through the grocery store. If nothing else, I'll get the fresh salmon and send my husband back to our local grocery store later for the rest of the items.  Our small town grocery doesn't carry fresh fish.   I get pretty shaky yet.  No wonder since I'm only consuming about 200 calories a day.

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.
