Sailing, rowing down the river, what are you eating???

Good morning Crewbies!  Our boat is sailing along like most boats. Sometimes the waters are calm, sometimes they're more like rapids where we just have to hold on for dear life. But, gee, isn't life just like that anyway? All we can do is make adjustments and go with the flow.

Here's my day so far. A little uncertain about lunch, going out with a friend, so I'll edit later on.

applesauce and cottage cheese 1/2 ww english muffin

s-  we'll see how the morning goes protein coffee

l-- going out. Probably a salad  lunch got canceled. Eating at home, so it will be leftover baked chicken and some beets
s--? 1/2 pb&J on ww, double fiber bread

d--pork chop w/ sauerkraut and brown rice pilaf

protein decaf

So? How goes your voyage?

I had to rummage around for food to bring to work.  Will go to the grocery store tonight.

B - 4 Crackers with 4 wedges of Laughing Cow lite Swiss cheese
S - Canned cling peaches in pear juice
L - Progresso lite Chicken Noodle Soup
S - the rest of the canned peaches
D - turkey meatloaf and green beans

I'm rowing.

Isn't it funny how we can get by now by just rummaging through the house for food? Who ever thought one can of peaches would be two meals?

You are so right.  AND it's not even the large can of peaches.  It's the one about the size of a green bean can.  Before WLS I never bought the smaller cans of anything!  I also would have eaten the whole large can in one sitting.

So glad you brought up those small cans. I never bought those before because they were more expensive than the regular sized cans. Well, there are two of us eating, no, more like 1 1/2, and I always seemed to end up throwing out the extra fruit or veggie. So, where's the saving there? Now I spend a little bit more, but we eat all of the small can of green beans at dinner and there isn't any waste. I think that makes the extra $$ worth it.  It also keeps me from feeling like I have to over serve Gary's plate to use that larger container.  So....we both save in more than one way!

I'm flying to Tennessee today.  I'm actually going to pack some food to eat along the way instead of snacking all day.  Salad, cheese sticks, fruit.  The weekend will be a challenge.  I'll do my best to make good choices, but there's so much "easy" food there, that I find myself snacking and grazing far too much.  I'll do the best I can, then get back on the barge Monday.

Nashville ,not Memphis.  Would loved to have seen you, though.  We need to make a plan to get together.  I'm always up for a trip....  Although, I'm about tripped out for this winter.....

Hi Susan and all the crewbies in OH land:

Funny you should mention rapids .  Yesterday I had one drumstick (no skin or breading this time) and 1/2 cup collard greens at the Black History luncheon.  It tasted great and I thought I was home free until the drive home.  

The moment I walked through the door I had to run to the bathroom where the pukefest began  .  I puked and puked and then puked some more. Waited 30 minutes to have chamomile tea and puked that too. 

Thoroughly disgusted with the whole process, went to bed, woke up at 2:30 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep.  Going to lay off actual food today.  Papi (my pouch) is feeling cranky  .

So here is today's plan:

B -  Chai latte (Chai tea and non-fat dry milk)
S - Cheese stick
L - Muscle milk light
S - 1 oz almonds
D - Muscle milk light
S - Protein Shot

Well, DANG, Maria!  Looks like chicken drumsticks are just not going to work for you. Sometimes you just have to leave them be for a couple of months and then try again.

As far out as  I am I can't eat spaghetti. I can eat elbows, spirals, lasagna or shells, just not the actual spaghetti noodle. It sits in my pouch like a big heavy rock.
