Good morning Cassie and Friends, We're back at our daughter's in Chehalis arrived in Seattle about 10pm. . . . When I checked us in on line in San Antonio the night before our flight they were looking for volunteers as the flight was overbooked. I asked Mike and he said to go for it so of course I did. We were first on the list and ended up bumped along with another couple. $400.00 voucher each good for one year and we just arrived home 3 hours later than scheduled! I could make a career out of this. Only bad part is we had to exit, go to another airline rebook the ticket, go through security again and then wait 2 hours. . . But it was worth it!

We were flying on a companion fare for Alaska. Once a year for $50.00 we can do a "full fare plus $50.00. So our tickets to Houston were $450.00 for both of us from Seattle and then we got another $800.00 in travel for the bump! If I watch fares and use our companion fare for 2010 we could get close to 2 trips for our vouchers!! I'm a happy girl.

The trip couldn't have gone any better. Mike handled the walking, driving, sitting much better than I thought he would. So many things to do in Texas; we'll have to go back. We couldn't fit eveything in in a week!

We'll stay here til tomorrow morning as the twins were asleep when we got in. Can't leave without some snug and cuddle time. Bought then cute little Texas cowgirl hats and t shirts.

Ate way too much barbecue, catfish, and Tex-Mex. . . but it sure was good.

Had lunch with Linda B on our way to the airport. Always a delight to reconnect with friends! Thanks Linda for leading us right into the car rental return lot!

6:30am David Crocket time and I'm wide awake. We toured the Alamo the day before all of that started many many years ago. Seeing where history took place in person really helps one reatize the sacrifices those men made for freedom. Crockett had a line that I loved; don't know why but I just do. When he lost a re-election bid for congress his line was "You can all go to hell, I'm going to Texas!" He came to the Alamo to defend freedom and gave the ultimate sacrifice his life. Another reminder that freedom certainly isn't free. I hate conflict and wish that we could all resolve things non violently but it doesn't seem to work that way. I am grateful for those who have helped us keep the freedoms that we enjoy.

It was good to go and it's good to be back home. You all have a great day.

Good morning Cassie and OFF family,
It's cold here in Kalamazoo this morning! My office is cold...or I'm just a little cold.
Maybe donating blood yesterday brought my internal temp down? LOL
I'm pushing fluids and feeling great, I don't have any problems donating blood. Iron was 45 and my bp was 106/62. Great!! Wwwhhoooooooo!!!

Work is busy still. Nurses are talking about striking. Don't know if they will cuz the last 3 years they have threaten to strike. This is Michigan and times are tough. Hopefully they will settle.

Didn't work out yesterday because I did donate blood, will work out in the pool with Deb after work today maybe. We will see how the day goes. Things are constantly changing here at work.

Good mornin', ya'll.

My poor DIL.  Eight hours before her flight the airlines called to say one leg had been cancelled and gave her new flight info.  She was up literally all night trying to get a schedule that would work for her and everyone involved in picking her up, etc.  Three hours before the flight she thought she had it all taken care of.  I got her to the airport at 5 AM yesterday.  She gets to Atlanta and text's our daughter (who was gonna pick her up) the new plans.  Our daughter (who flies ALL the time), says, check your ticket there is no direct flight from ATL to EUG. She looks and OMG the agent had her going to EGE (Vail, Colorado) instead of EUG (Eugene, Oregon).  More scrambling! More stops along the way. So instead of getting into EUG at 2 PM, she got in at nearly midnight!   Her return flights are just as meandering.  Funny thing (NOT), one agent was gonna charge her $150 to make the flight change to get her where she was ORIGINALLY supposed to go!!!  My DIL can be very vocal and a bit of a biotch when need be.

My WBC was 10.2 yesterday.  Hooray.  I can continue with my chemo next Wednesday and I won't need a transfusion.  I told the tech I had had a talk with my white blood cells and told them to 'go forth and multiply'.  I guess that and the neupogen shots helped!

My weight is SLOWLY backing down to where it used to be before I had an unfill.  One of the big problems is, I just have no energy or stamina to exercise.  I can only do 3 minutes on the eliptical before I am limp!  But I am trying to do that at least twice a day.  I will keep doin' what I have to do to get where I have to be.  Both weight-wise and health-wise.  Cancer is a real pain in the backside!

Have a fantabulous day.

I fly a lot, and the only airline I have no problems with is Southwest.  They seldom change my scheduled flights, and if I do need to make any changes, there's no re-booking fee.  Delta seems to be the worst I've dealt with so far.  they make many small changes after the flight is booked, and I've had to re-book due to too-short layovers after they've screwed around.  Then they want to charge a $150 re-booking fee for every change I HAVE to make after they've messed around.  Once they made three changes within a week after I booked a flight, and wanted me to pay for re-booking each time.  I got a little vocal myself at that point.  Didn't happen.  I try to avoid Delta, but sometimes ya gotta go to where they fly...

That said, I'm flying to Tennessee this afternoon...on Southwest....and I'd better get moving.  Still have to pack and shovel the house for the cat-sitter.

Everyone have a good day.

Good morning Cassie and everyone else,
My day is off to a better start than yesterday....yesterday my baby (Buddy) woke me up at 5am vomiting.  He was kind of listless all day but I think he's looking a bit better today.  Maybe he just had a tummy ache....

It's still too chilly her to do much of anything outside.  I did get out on Tuesday and cleared out one of the bigger flower beds.  Felt good to be working in the garden.  I think it's we are supposed to have a couple of warmer days this coming Sunday/Monday.  yippee

My big excitement today includes cleaning windows  (inside only) and dusting.  Also going to do a little work on website design.
I'm off for now will be back later to post my food to Susan's thread.

Hope everyone has a good day.
Thoughts and well wishes to everyone feeling under the weather.

Good morning!
Good job starting us out, Cassie.  I'll never be up early enough, probably!

BUSY day today - work is hectic, I've got to get another report done.   I just am keeping busy here.  And I go out to lunch with 3 of my close girlfriends - will be fun, I rarely do lunch.  But it breaks up my day, too.

I leave early for PCP dr. appt and then pick Michael up and meet the WLS support gang for dinner.  Poor Michael wants to go, is on liquids so will just drink tea or something!  He's got less than a week to go now and he has lost weight!

Have a good day. And you sickies - - feel better!!!

Have family coming and bringing food for my birthday luncheon today....we usually go out, but they will come here this time. It will be fun.

Reading Dan Brown's new book that my son gave me for my BD. It's good so far.

Have a great day,

Hi Cassie and my OFF family:

I am up earlier than usual. Had to get up at 7 a.m. to take Nettie to the vet. She's getting a tooth pulled. I had to take their food and water off the floor last night at 8 p.m. because of her dental work ... neither cat was very happy. When I woke up this morning, Nettie was meowing for food, but I grabbed her and put her in the cat carrier. She was not pleased. Then I fed Scooter, who was really spooked by Nettie's plaintive meowing ...he thought he was next. I kept telling him it was OK, he could eat, he wasn't going anywhere. But he just sat in the front bedroom, looking scared.

So I got Nettie to the vet, then went grocery shopping ... boy, it's empty at Meijer at 8:30 a.m.! I actually got a handicapped spot right by the door ... I usually don't. Spent way too much, but I stocked up on a lot of stuff on sale. Then I stopped at Walgreens to pick up a prescription and checked out their Homedics massagers ... I had to send one back to QVC (the shiatsu massagers are too rough on fibromyalgics ... it really hurt my back). Walgreens had a nice massager with heat on special for $25.99 (it was normally $44.99). Wow, what a deal! So I bought that. I hope that will work. My old lift recliner had heat and massage on it, my new recliner doesn't. I miss it.

So now we're home and waiting for the vet to call this afternoon so I can go pick up Miss Nettie.

Have a good day.

Starting  the thread is a breeze, right Cassie?  No problem.
Had leftover ribs and 1/4 of a leftover turkey blt wrap for b-fast this mornning.  I usually have protein coffee, but just felt like chewing this morning.  I've gotten almost 32 oz of crystal light down so far, so I'm doing well.  I have a hard time getting in all my liquids during the winter.  No problem during the summer.
We've been invited to our friends house for dinner tonight.  Sauerkraut and Kielbasa, but not until 7 pm.  I don't really like to eat that late, but every so often I can deal with it.  I'm hoping the kraut doesn't affect (or is it effect) me adversely.
Hope everyone has a safe, warm day today.

Hi Cassie and all my OFF friends,
I had a nice dinner last night with my friend Linduh_M at Cracker Barrel.  We had the Pork BBQ which is all shredded and nice and easy to eat - yummy.  We stopped at Joann's first so I could get some yarn.  Used my 40% off coupon.  Spent a little money in Cracker Barrel on blue glass.  My fav color.  They'll be so pretty on the window sill.
Nothing much going on with me.  Need to finish a report at work today.  Sunday is a dinner where our Boy Scout Council recognizes all the volunteer leaders.  Hubs has a stag for my niece's fiancee on Sat.  Yay, I'll be all alone for a few hours.  We've been watching a lot of the Olympics.  Erin Pac from Milford, CT (only a few miles from me) got the Bronze in women's bobsled yesterday.  WooHoo.
I'm crocheting some scarves now.  I don't like any of the ones that I have bought. They are either not long enough or too skinny.  I'd make some for the grandkids but my DIL is funny (not) about that.  A lot of the things I make for them, I never see again.  I made my DIL a very complicated afghan for Christmas one year.  I haven't seen it since.  I made the grand's pillowcases with their names on them with a secret pocket on the inside.  When I went there at Christmas, they were nowhere to be seen.  Oh well, she has two boys, she'll find out someday what it's like being a mother-in-law.
You did a good job starting the thread Cassie.
Bev
