WHAT'S NEW, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH
I'm working too, but wanted to say hello to all.
Michael started his new dialysis clinic today, so it's more convenient for us - closer to home and a later start time. I'll use my lunch hour to transport him back home, and then just eat at my desk.
He started his liquid diet for his RNY today! 2 weeks of that for him. Funny, I just did that in September and can hardly remember it now.
We went to a Mardi Gras dance at the Eagles Club last night. We have musician friends that play in bands, so went to hear them. It was fun, even though we didn't stay too late.
Hope everyone is doing well. Jacki, you are in my thoughts, too.

I've been getting up at 4:00 to babysit. Arrrggghhh I go back to sleep but only for an hour or so.
Today is a half day at school so we will be sewing when she gets home. Sometimes I think I'm too old for this, but the money is good and I don't have to dress for work.. haha Maybe that's not a good thing.....
Food has been so much better. I've cut out some items and have kept to a decent menu. Things I thought were good to eat are not neccesarily so. Now, I need to start losing the weight I gained. One pound at a time. Not going to be easy.
Today is cold... for us anyway. No snow but the cool moist air bites. I could use more warm days too. This cold weather helps realize how nice the warm weather is.

Cindy, it's good to see you around again. We have lost too many old-timers.
I was supposed to go to lunch today with a former coworker (also laid off) but he canceled. Oh well, another day sitting at home ... but today I have a purpose at least. Yesterday, I called Social Security and started the ball rolling on disability. So I have to fill out the form online. Next Friday, they're calling me for the interview. Got to get my ducks in a row for the interview. I could have done an in-person interview, but it would have been in Holland, MI, and I don't really know my way around Holland, plus there's always the chance of lake-effect snowstorms in Holland (it's closer to the lake). I would have gone to Grand Rapids, which I'm more familiar with, but I guess they figured since I'm in Ottawa County, they'd send me to Holland. Oh well. I'm glad they gave me the option of the phone interview.
Sent out some resumes the past few days and got an e-mail back from one on a freelance job, but they're still looking, so I'm still waiting.
No snow today, but it's gloomy. A good day to sit inside and nap ... I'm doing a lot of that lately.
Otherwise, not much going on. Same ol', same ol'. Vet visit yesterday cost me $390, plus Nettie has a bad tooth that might be infected and has to be pulled, so that will cost me another probably $150. Oh well, they hadn't been there for three years. It wouldn't have cost that much but I had geriatric blood profiles done, just to see if anything was wrong since they're both senior cats. I don't think anything's wrong, but want to head it off now (like diabetes, hyperthyroidism, etc.). I was so proud of Nettie and Scooter at the vet ... they were so good. Scooter was a bit of a handful to get in the carrier, but once at the vet, he didn't hiss at all. He was nervous, of course. Nettie was her usual sweet, docile self.
Anyway, I'm spending too much money but it's on necessary stuff, not junk. Next week I have to spend $1200 on my car. But since I can't afford a new one, I have no choice but to keep this one in top running condition.

debbie i m so sorry to read about your angel dog...(((debbie))) its hard i know...been there and its heart wrenching to go through!!!
got my taxes done this morning and i am getting a refund!!! WOOHOOO!!!!
sun is out right now and what a welcome sight!!!! how long it will be out is anyones guess. calling for another 1-2 inches of the white stuff...grrrrr
not much else happening so will get back to doing the afghan for ricks mom.
