Getting to Know You

Since I'm so new, I feel somewhat lost to many of your posts.  Everyone talks about family, etc. with names, but I'm not sure who they are talking about.  So I thought it would help if everyone shared a little about themselves so I  (and other newbies) won't feel so out of the loop.  I'll start

1. Where do you live?  Southwest Iowa

2. Married or signifcant other situation/names  Married (Verlin) 39 years

3.  Children ages/names  Jason, 36 married to Amy; Christa, 33 married to Skye
 
4. Grandchildren ages/names Alexandria (Alex) 12, Abbie 10, Jarod 5 (all Jason's) Sena 3 and Jett Anne 15 months

5. Job or not?  Retired?  Office Mgr county public health office 29 years and still love my job

6.  What was your age when you hade WLS?  I'll still be 58 when I have it the 23rd

7. What was your beginning BMI and what is it now?  My BMI is 54 . Ouch that's hard to admit "out loud".

1. Minnesota....hour and a half from Minneapolis

2. Have a significant other and will never marry again. I plan on living alone as long as I can.

3.2 daughters....Jamie and Carrie

4. Grandchildren...Nic (16) Grace (3) Kyleigh (17) Amanda(15) and Lucas (11)

5. Case manager for a Senior Employment Program. I work part time and I love it.

6. 50s

7. upper 40s now lower 20s

7. What was your beginning BMI and what is it now?  was 41-now 24

1. Where do you live?  West Michigan

2. Married or signifcant other situation/names  Single, two cats, Scooter and Nettie

3.  Children ages/names  No kids, just cats

4. Grandchildren ages/names no grandchildren because no kids; two grandnephews, Ben, 9, Sam, 5

5. Job or not?  Retired?  I was a copy editor at a newspaper until I got laid off last week. I worked in the newspaper business for 31 years, first as a sports writer/photographer, then as a copy editor. I figure I'm going to apply for disability.

6.  What was your age when you hade WLS?  49

7. What was your beginning BMI and what is it now?  Don't remember BMI, but I weighed 355 at my heaviest. I was 347 before the pre-op diet. Don't know what it is now, other than it's considered "overweight" by insurance standards as I'm 180 pounds more or less.

What a great idea!   But ... if you don't mind, I was gonna copy and paste it to the group?

1.  Dallas/Fort Worth area

2.  June 1 will be 36 wonderful years married to the same wonderful woman (Mary).

3.  Brad, married to Oleta and Penny, married to Joel.

4.  Brad's kids:  Brad (Eddie) 12, Alexander (Alex) 5, and Eryn 4, Penny's kids:  Jana (8), Ava (5), Jaret 1.

5.  Two jobs.  Manage a telemarketing room part time nights.  Customer service asst supervisor overnight.  Also, retired Air Force.

6.  56 1/2

7.  43.8 before.  Now it is 27.4

1. I live in California, about 1 hour east of San Francisco.

2. Married 26 years to Alan.

3. I have one daughter, Laura, who is 24.

4. No grandchildren yet... 1 grand dog, Sookie, age 5 months!

5. Job- full time Language, Speech and Hearing Specialist, working in the schools for almost 30 years.

6. I was 53 when I had surgery- BMI almost 50 then. I lost 120 lbs., not to goal, but happy. Not sure of BMI now.

6.  What was your age when you hade WLS?  I was 58.

7. What was your beginning BMI and what is it now?  My BMI  was 60.8 and is now 38.8.
